Blog Improvements !

Hi All.

Was wondering if some of ya's could check out my blog site (in sig) and tell me what improvements I might make (additions too) which my blog could really do with......or any other feedback you would all be so kind to give me.

For SEO, there is few basics things you could improve :

Your home page don't have title, which isn't so good.
Your posts pages titles start with ">>Blog archive..". Put the post title at the beginning.
Add Unique META description on each page too.

There is a problem of canonical URL, your home page can be found with 3 differents URL :
http://publicansblog.com/
http://www.publicansblog.com/
http://www.publicansblog.com/index.php

Set up a 301 redirect to http://www.publicansblog.com/, SE will like it better.

And imo you should put your subscription buttons higher, readers won't see them, put them at the top of the sidebar, they will think about suscribing to your blog.

 

You could run a RSS feed about beer, alcohol of whatever to help give fresh content.

will give you heaps of new articles about pub type things - gambling, casino's, smoking, alcohol topics, etc.

Its so easy to chuck an RSS in now thanks to the new add page elements tabs which ensures your blog will always have some fresh content on it. Helpful if you have multiple blogs.

I'm using it and its really helpfull

 

I think the SEO title tag plugin can do it.

 

Also.

Is a 301 redirect the same thing as "Add a Domain Pointer" in my SiteAdmin section of my host ?

Your site seems to be very good.

One thing I would add is a contact form near about.

"Secure and Accessible PHP Contact Form" is a good wordpress plugin that does this
