I am new in directories business, please help me

    Could you be so kind to answerme these questions
    1. links form website and directory are equal for search engines ?
    2. Directory links are for PR or for traffic?
    3. Can I promote web up to PR8 only with directories?

    1 - yes
    2 - for PR - not much traffic
    3 - you will need links from PR9/PR10 directories - Infact not possible.

    It seems you want to test directory owners:rolleyes: I don't see you you are interested to open a directory--because if you were to open one you would never have asked the first question!

    Please read THIS article to know your answer. You also get you second answer from it. If not direct traffic --they help you gain indirect traffic by way of catapulating your SERPs. If there were no directories around --just think how many years and how much effort you had to put in just to give your site a devent SERPs.

    Also --I have not yet come accross a PR8 Paid directory unless and ofcourse Dir.yahoo.com

    Thank you for everyone. You are right. I wonna just promote my web site www.accounting-on-line.com and wanted to know how directories could help me. I think now ot is worth to add site to good quality web directories
