Hi, I was wondering if any of you advertise your sites off the net, and what works best for you. It's for my site APopularityContest.com
Hi camp185 Yeah I have a few ideas that I am presently using that work pretty good. The best I would say is T-shirts and Caps that represent your logo or something catchy to get someone's eye. A lot of people come up to you and ask what its about and you can then give them your card... Or you could product Drop Cards, they are like mini flyers that are similar to a business card but you can produce it on your computer. Post them wherever people would see that relates to what you do. That's a couple at least. Hope you have success. - By the way, if you want to go the T-Shirt route, Cafepress is the cheapest way to advertise.
your car (if you have one) bumper stickers, stickers in the rear n side windows. maybe even consider getting stickers on your car. I know when i see cars with web addresses stuck down the side, it sticks in my head. for example, i can remember a smart coupe i've seen once or twice, with handbags express on the side. i can't remember the details, but if i was interesting in handbags, i sure would! Also, always carry business cards round with you. you never know when you'll meet a potential customer.
Thanks for the ideas...I may just do the ball cap idea. I did a a license plate frame for my road rage site. The reason I ask is because I like the idea of an ad that last a long time. For example. Spend $100 on adwords in 1 month. The visitors come, you get new members, the value is good and immediate. It is also very much done in 1 month. Spend $100 on something that could last for a couple of years like 10 hats, and what is he value then? Right away they go to work. You have 10 locked down fans, and they market for you long term. Hmmmmmm 20 cents for an adworder that hangs out on the site for a few days or $10 for a loyal visitor (I would give hats away as prizes to competing members). I think my budget is going to hats next month. Cafepress, good idea. I already have an account, jut haven't used yet.
about the caps thing, i personally think it will only work for certain niche's. People have to want to wear your hat! lol
PR stunts work great for off net promotion. You could go to your local electoral office whenever people are voting for any reason and give away posters, flyers, pens, caps or anything with your logo and website url on it and ask them to keep on voting.
i think a classic way of making flyers still good. just make sure you put it in the right place. flyers is cheap and approachable somehow.
