eBook marketing

I was wondering if anyone could suggest some alternative methods for marketing ebooks. The eBook is written by a friend of mine, and we're interested in marketing it ourselves. We have about $3k budget for marketing.

So far i've looked at starting our own affiliate system, to help increase sales, although i'm not sure how much it would help.

Also, can anyone recommend a press release writing individual or company?

Any help on these matters is much appreciated.

It's a poker ebook, but it's mainly aimed at people who like poker, but have no idea how to play it online. So beginners really.

Also, i should have mentioned that it's actually really 4 ebooks.

 

How are you planning to sell it? (zencart, ezypal. etc)

 

What do you mean? Which shopping cart method? I was just going to sell it through a PayPal "buy it now" button option.

Hmm, i see the dilemma with coupon codes, but i couldn't think of any other disadvantage. I've found a suitable affiliate script that integrates with PayPal so all the affiliate payments are managed automatically.

A rather shameless plug alex, i fail to see how that is remotely beneficial.

 

I think you guys should start your own affiliate system. Over time, if you promote your affiliate program, you will be making a lot more money for sure because you'll be leveraging your marketing efforts.

 

I agree, going with your own affiliate system is the best idea for the long run. It will take time to see some results but then it will pay off...

What kind of return should i be looking for if i was to spend $1k-$2k on an Adwords campaign?

 

If you have a positive ROI% then it was successful.

I would also look into Clickbank, basically the same as having your own affiliate system except you don't have to find PUBs or manage anything.

 

If you read my earlier post, i mentioned that i didn't want to promote the ebook through and affiliate system, and i'd rather do it myself. But thanks anyway
