I'm looking for a good way to have people sign up for a newsletter and then send out emails in bulk.

    What do you use?

Aweber.com and getresponse.com are the two big names for managing autoresponders/newsletters. They're both really good, can't go wrong with either.

phpList (as mentioned above) is great - we use it for a mailinglist with >7,000 members

its automated for signups/unsubscribes, you can throttle how many emails are sent out in a certain amount of time, it can carry on where it left off if the mailout times out (a problem we had with similar scripts).. and its free :)

phpList is very good if you're semi-technical and can handle the setup and config.

The real limiting factor with a self-hosted solution like phpList is the limits your host puts on emails per hour. I was a bit surprised to find out how strict most hosts are in putting hard limits on outbound email traffic.

I just use my own system built into my script :)

You can see it here http://www.freestuffdirect.com

    Hope that helps Scotto!

I don't use any, but Aweber & GetResponse are the 2 most popular ones.
