    and its not even linked to e-gold website. It is linked

    ( this is a scam ) http://www.e-gold.com-av.at/acct/login.html

    here original domain is "com-av.at". and "e-gold" is a sub domain created under com-av.at, concatenating two words together creates e-gold.com-av.at That will confuse the users and users will think think they are entering e-gold.com.

    Yes, In general just always remember do not click on any link in your email.Scan the link. Copy the link and paste it to notepad and check if they're using http:// instead of https:// just like deluxdon have said.

    This applies to any payment processor btw.(paypal moneybookers, egold and etc)

    You really should just look at URLs before clicking anything. I, on the other hand, just manually choose to type URLs in my browser's address bar to avoid all of this nonsense. ;)
