I've been given a number of recommended hosts. My leaning is towards 1and1.com, but would like to hear your opinions too. Thanks
1and1.com are awful.....honestly, stay away from that host! One of the best hosts is www.site5.com, go on webhostingtalk.com and do a search. I'm with site5 and they're awesome! Very fast servers, amazing features, support around the clock with incredible response times.
I was all stressed out this week because my dedicated server was down for almost 2 full days, they kept rebooting it and it would crash again in a few hours. No one at the host would notice it until I put in a support ticket and then it would take 3-4 hours to get them to reboot again. Ended up it was a hardware problem and they had to get me onto a new box. Anyway, while I was counting the dollars being lost, I went looking for a new host to start migrating to, site by site. I looked at a bunch and decided to try hostgator. It's been less than a week, but I am very impressed. I'm just on a cheap plan that offers unlimited domains, etc., but I had some questions (not really problems), I was able to get through on the phone without going on hold, and I sent half a dozen or more emails to support, and they got back to me with good answers in very quick fashion each time. So I personally recommend hostgator, hopefully I won't be disappointed in the future.
I've been using bluehost for the last few months, and they've been absolutely great. I'm running a descent business with CJ, and since I barely know anything about web publication, they've helped quite a bit with the whole process. I just can't believe how patient they were when I kept calling them, man I must have annoyed them so much!! here I have a few recommendations from my friends and of course myself. http://www.doink.biz/hosting
Hey I could help you out for hosting if needed. Just pm me and I'll send you the plans! ontopic: 1and1, have heard LOADS of bad things about them! but you could try them out ofcourse!
I have accounts with ipowerweb, powweb and globat. The best eperience is with ipowerweb. It may be a little expensive $95 a year.
Never buy domains from globat - horrible customer service and they ignore you while on the phone and plus they delay a week before responding to ANY of your e-mails.
I have had a long-time positive experience, with multiple hosted servers, of LayeredTech. I selected them after lots of research on webhostingtalk.com. They rent their own floor from the huge SAVVIS data center in Texas, which they describe as follows: Additionally they used to have some cooperation with The Planet, not sure if they still do.
I rent a dedicated server at servermatrix/theplanet and I am very satisfied Last time I submitted a support ticket I got a reply in 2-3 minutes.
I'd rent a dedicated server if you are comfortable with a bit of maintenance. Dedicated servers are cheap these day and you can put just about as many domains as you have on them. I've seen low end server as low as $39 per month. Just do a search on google. _________________ Reliable Dedicated Servers | Pagerank Checker Tool | Free Web Hosting | Web Master Resource Center
One of the best hosts is www.site5.com, go on webhostingtalk.com and do a search. I'm with site5 and they're awesome! Very fast servers, amazing features, support around the clock with incredible response times. ditto for the above. I've experienced a number of less-than-adequate hosts but site5 has more than met my expectations. Hey, if you do select site5, please mention my site as a referrer.
I have a dedicated box from Dedicatednow.com ...Prices a a little high (search for special promotions at Webhostingtalk, or ask for specials - if you go with them)... their support stuff is exellent, but other than that, the entire company is totally messed up. Typical situation when crowing too fast. If you're not looking for a dedicated server, I have long time good experience of 5dollarhosting.com (doesn't have the latest features and their site looks amateurish, but their service & reliability is excellent) ...also good experience of addaction.net (they offer 6 months for free and you can actually host five domains on one account!) ...also Addaction has excellent support. As always, feel free to search http://webhostingtalk.com and you'll immediately find a lot of real life reviews of different type of hosting companies. One tip... it seems to be common, that you'll find better offers from hosting companies when searching Webhostingtalk -forums ...service providers don't promote all the specials on their sites
I use jaguarpc, I've been with them since 2003. They keep improving their services without raising prices .
