Virtual Credit Card - Is it safe?

Hey,
I want to open Paypal account, but I don't have Credit card.
I know that there is a Virtual Credit Card, but I wonder if it is safe to use?
and which Virtual Credit Card is recommended?

Use it as your own risk. If they ask you to submit a faxed copy of your credit card statement, you would be screwed.

To be Verified means that Paypal can rely on your bank to certify that you are who you say you are, reside in your address and in the country you signed up in and that you are creditworthy. Banks do not offer credit cards to just anyone on the street, they will do all the checks before offering you the card.

A VCC is offered to anyone by the seller without even bothering to check your identity. You pay, you get it. You can in fact put any name, address and anything else to it. It basically defeats what verification is all about.

A VCC does not come with a paper statement and it is usually not renewable. When the VCC expires, what would you do ?

 

A lot of people over here use virtual credit cards. Till now never heard of any issues with them. But you never know, when Paypal starts flagging these accounts.
Go and Search for it i Buy Sell Trade section of this forum and you will find plenty. Pickup one having good itrader..

 

vcc is not suggested, but then you can get away with it. once a charge back comes, then paypal will come to know that you are cheating them, and they will ban your account!!

 

Can't I verify my account with a real CC then?

 

Well, if you can use a real Credit Card, why use a VCC in the first place ? Of course, a real Credit Card is definitely the only way to go.

Basically, it is best to verify your account with a real credit card from the start and skip all the cloak and dagger thing with a VCC.

1) You are not allowed to use fake details in the first place. You need to enter your real name and address and all the other details they require. You have to be honest.

2) As long as you deal honestly with your customers, are honest with Paypal and follow the TOS and AUP to the 'T', you should be okay. You also need to be sure you access your paypal account from a paypal-approved country. If so, you would be safe.

Paypal may just do random checks and may ask you to verify your details further which may include submitting your credit card statement. You never know when you would be selected.

3) I believe that VCC may just have a 1 to 6 months period before it expires.

To me, using a VCC is already being dishonest, it is like using a fake ID or a fake passport. I never recommend it and never used them myself. I kind of stop using Paypal on a regular basis because too many people are using VCC and I do not know who is honest and who is not anymore. Too many frauds going around Paypal and their good name got blacken because people finds ways to cheat their verification process.

 

This is however true but the major advantage arising out of such a situation is that we have some "mobility" in case of "chargebacks". If someone chargebacks then your VCC will not be charged in case you are using a VCC.

1.If you use a VCC then providing real address and real info has no meaning. Your chances are that the day Paypal finds out that you are using a VCC you are doomed.
2.If all transactions go on smoothly in your account then I guess Paypal will never ask for a CC statement.
(From my personal experience I have used and sold many VCC's, till now never had any sort of problems with them)
3. Usually VCC's remain valid for 3 months but still the account in which you added the VCC will remain verifed even after the VCC has expired.
(However it will ask you to add a new CC )

One more thing, when I buy VCC I have to check if it's valid to my country, or it's valid to all the countries?

Israel is an approved country which allows you to Spend and receive money through Paypal but you can only withdraw to a US Bank account.

A VCC does not link to a name, address, country or anything. It is just two sets of numbers and an expiry date.

Is there a way to get a credit card in Israel ? I am sure the banks do offer them.

Alternatively, just use Moneybookers.com which is less restrictive.

 

Bro, you can send and recieve money from other countries but as far as encashing the money is concerned you can only do it if you have a US bank account
(Don't even dare to open a false US account)

(By adding a VCC you can send and recieve payments from other Paypal accounts but can't help you as far as "encashing" your Paypal balanace is concerned as the check option is not applicable to accounts opened under the country -- "Israel"

VCC's are vaild for all countries and therefore you don't need to provide any personal info to anyone from whom you are buying the VCC.

After the VCC expires you don't need to do anything.
Just hang on wit the Paypal account.

 

OK I understand it finally!

I need this PayPal account just to sale things and buy others, if I want to get the money I can send it to friend and he will send it to me in israel, this is not a problem for me.

Last two questions:
1. where can I buy VCC in a good price?
2. any others things that I have to know before I buy VCC?

I don't think there is anything else you need to know abou a VCC, however if you need further assistance feel free to ask it out.
(Just remember that you are "tweaking" the system and therefore there is monetary risk involved)

I think VCCs are good and safe from paypal limitaton when you just use it for buying stuffs.
