I was always thinking about starting my own blog, but I've never started one, as I have no articles writing skills. I've heard of (WordPress) Auto Blog and wonder what it is? Is it a plugin that you install within your blog and it will somehow blog for me automatically? Will it produce new articles for my blog? So, I won't have to write any articles for my blog? This seems to be too good to be true. I'd appreciate if someone could explain me how it works. Thanks in advance.
Well it doesn't write articles for you, all you have to do is set up the blog and write content for it. The only way it would produces it's own articles is if you had it hooked up to a RSS feed of some sort and it would auto update itself but it wouldn't be unique content.
It will not be producing new articles. But will be taking articles written on other blogs and putting them on yours. This is okay as long as you include a link back. Money making point of view. Eh... not too impressed myself.
The chances are your blog won't rate very well using only posts from RSS feeds (feedwordpress), there are people who don't allow you to reproduce their material and the images are loaded from a remote location (therefore if the source is gone so are your images).
Will I have to add the link to the original article manually? Doesn't the plugin insert the link automatically? I would greatly appreciate if anyone using Auto Blog (or any other fully automated blogging system) could reply to this thread. I would also like to see an example of such a blog. RRS feed or FeedWordPress can be downloaded for free somewhere?
No, I built a system to create my own feeds that aren't rehashed 5000 times. The typical autoblogs you see are pretty worthless and the ones that steal others content get C&D letters often. Cheers
well with the help of this u can easily update your blog and it will not waste your time to write some articles , but by this u can only show the articels of other blogs with the help of rss feeds . when they write a new article on there blog , that article will automatically also shows on you blog by the rss of there blog , so it will only show the post of other blogs on your blog nothing else
Then blogging probably isn't for you. I built Hillary Clinton for President and a bunch of other RSS spam sites with WP-AutoBlog. Some of the sites do better than others. Obviously topic choice is one factor, but another factor seems to be whose RSS feeds you use. Many blogs will automatically link back to you if you link to them -- that is a quick way to build topical links quickly. The system is limited to choosing RSS at a feed level. A better system would be to choose individual posts based upon topic and content. Another "improvement" that could be made would be to implement a text randomizer which modified the text from the RSS feed. Overall, I find it easier to make money with original content.
Elliott Back's Blog now says: "This software is on hold. Go use Feedwordpress, you vile spammers, or the recently announced WP o’ Matic." Too funny!
I tried out feedwordpress at http://www.coralation.com yesterday, took about 5 minutes to install wordpress and feedwordpress. Took another 3 minutes to setup a couple of feeds. Of course I didnt do anything to make it look good, there isnt even ads on it, I was just messing around on my lunch from work - so to top it off, I was eating burger king on a laptop with wifi and it was still easy. it does categories if you want, it creates links or brings in the whole article.
You know, it seems to me, I read on the wordpress site I think that you could do that even right now. You mean to like a certain category right?
I don't care much about categories. What I want is to have an aggregator about "John Kerry" and have it post RSS items about "John Kerry" from newsfeeds -- without posting items not about "John Kerry" from the same feeds.
Oh, ok I see. Seems like that would be possible, maybe sometime this weekend I will get a chance to do a little testing. If I can come up with anything I let you know. Unfortunately right now I am supposed to be printing t-shirts, but can't seem to get away from the addiction of dp You could have it pull from an RSS feed regarding political items, then just go in there and clean it up by deleting the irrelevant posts.
AutoBlog works. It really depends on your expectation. If you are expecting $100 a day from your blog, I think that will be very difficult to achieve. I have a few auto blogs each making $5 a day.
