My Directory is #1 "Paid webdirectory" at Google

Just I was searching for Paid webdirectory and found that my directory Goodprlinks.com is at #1.

As "Paid webdirectory" is not a competitive phrase,I think it's easy to get on #1.

Exactly what I was going to ask CReed: how much traffic you see from this keyterm... if a lot - i will be focusing more time and energy on it

i m ranked somewhere around 20s for paid directory and it gets me 10 - 20 visits sometimes more ....

though phpld mods << get my site alot more visitors just putting a hopes up for some people who might want to get high in those keywords.

Good for you, I'm always happy to see someone do well.

 

If you can't see a good traffic with the keyword, you will not be so excited about the fact soon unless you think that will be next hot keyword for directory based keyword.

The statistic says that most people don't click on page 3 or deeper ones, so being top 20 as your final goal probably could be a requirement for getting good traffic result, whatever the keyword you want to promote with.

To be ranked with good keywords at top 20 is pretty hard. Furthermore, probably 60% of the clicks will NOT go to the top 11 to 20.

So, if you try to rank with a competitive keyword, most likely you would end up being somewhere around top 40 unless you promote your site a lot.

I have this keyword people come from Google, total 98 times in March, and the keyword puts my site around 60th in Google SERPs. I have absolutely no idea how people could find mine with it even though this one is very competitive one, searched 11436 times/mo.

Avoding the competition is a typical SEO approach, but if the keyword is not searched often, you can not expect traffic at all. Top 5 with dead keywords is also meaningless.

Much higher on .co.uk G don't trust it at the moment though so the actual rankings are knowhere near, think I am going to have to get it listed in Yahoo Directory.
