AuctionAds working nicely

I was using Text Link Ads on my site without much luck and they launched a new program called auction ads that works off of the ebay affiliate model. I have had it running for about 3 weeks and have brought in some nice revenue. Yesterday was my best day with $45 in commission. Their stats don't give enough detail as to where the earnings come from - new user signup, a winning auction, etc..- but I assume that the stats will get better.

The auctions can be targeted to your site based on keywords so you do get relevant auction listings. I have been pleasantly surprised that it is working so well on a gossip site. I am thinking about starting a new site that focuses on solid ebay niche markets to see if has even greater success.

Anyone have any luck with it? Best practices? Way to increase revenue??

    the one in my signature

celebrity gossip site -- but it's a 30 day cookie so you basically can get commission 30 days down the line on a user that clicks the ad -- not a bad deal

It was also down recently and now you are saying it's down again. Ummm. I hope they sort this problem out. I have never used them, but wonder what sort of products they use. Are they affiliated with Ebay and show their ads on your site or do they have their own auction site with sellings and show them auctions on your site?

Also, why don't you leave text-link-ads on your site and also have the AuctionAds on it.

John, its not down, and hasn't BEEN down. We had a short outage a few weeks ago, but there have been no interruptions to serving ads since then.

I am not a member of this program anyway so I wouldn't know. It is just what I heard from another member in this forum and also from the member that posted 2 mosts above mine.

Apparently when it was down a few weeks back, for a little while, I think the clusters or what ever they are were increased. AuctionAds said something like that anyway, I think. Anyway, I know that some people are making good money from this program, by the sounds of things. When I get time I will look more into this program, as I may also signup.

Nice to hear someone is getting some good results. My main site is also sort or celebrity related. Lots of clicks but next to nothing as far as earnings.

I get around a 1% CTR -- i used keywords like fashion, celebrity, ipod -- figure that went with the 18-35 female market
traffic to my site -- around 2000-3000 visits per day - approx..5000 page views
