GoogleBot

For some reason, I'm not seeing that much activity with googlebot. I checked my webmaster tool and it says Googlebot last successfully accessed your home page on Mar 30, 2007. It's like April 5th?! I'm noob..so can somebody explain what I'm doing wrong?

I've reuploaded a site map and still no change.

Not enough high quality backlinks is the most likely cause.

No point re-upping your sitemap if there arn't enough quality links on the web to send Gbot your way.

So the only thing your probably doing wrong, is doing nothing at all.

 

I think the Google Webmasters tool need sometime to update. You could get the upto-date info from your cpanel stats--try that.

cpanel stats for really well. It shows u most of the stats that u will ever need.

 

The webmaster tool is showing you the last cache date not the last time that googlebot has visited and there is a delay factor when using the webmaster tools. Most likely googlebot has visited your home page after Mar 30th.

I use crawltrack to track bot activity. It is the best free program out there to track bots. Here is short video that I created to highlight what you can do in crawltrack:

Awstats should tell you when the bot last crawled your visit.
If you do update your site regularly,the bots will definitely drop in for a cup of tea and some biscuits ..
