I'm just curious how many have paid for a review and asked to not be listed?

Even so, if someone submits a quality website and pays for a review and you don't approve because you say it's not quality...

They should dispute the charges based on services not rendered in this case being a review.

The review clause still holds you accountable for a quality review, and is not a way out of this.

So a shotty review is unacceptable and should be refunded. If you don't like that maybe you should read Paypals or your credit processors guidelines. ;)

My directory was rejected for some reasons but they manage to accomodate my Company Site. So if you have an alternative site maybe they could fit you in. Lucky since it includes The Directory. Which is also in Another Directory.

    Thanks

I don't understand this policy. Why would i pay for a "review". How can I know if my website is acceptable (don't make sense to me).

Just leave BOTW and take your money somewhere else. I'm glad there are not many sites such as this one.

This directory don't remember its beginning - It started the same way as a new directory. It don't hurt much to give a chance to new directory - I would think that someone paying this much is serious and creating "quality content" would come as a result.

To be on BOTW's side: that's why his site is so quality... because he only accepts heavy, unique, content websites :)

Paying for the review makes sense, what doesn’t make sense is that the review price is 100% of the submission,
I think a fair review value could be from 10% to 50% max.

True but the problem wasn't the site being denied. It was being denied then taking $69 and not refunding. Absolute crap.

It actually gives more motive to the editor to not approve and find something wrong right away than go thru and take their time to approve.

Thanks for payment...in 2 seconds flat we decline and thanks for the $70. Any complaints read our policy..blah...blah.

I mean please how much time did it take to review http://www.centraldirectory.net/ ? I'd really like to know.

I think it's a way for them to deter spammy submissions, but at an over price as it is and the idea of being rejected and losing that money, why even think of submitting there anyways...Crazy.

I see it as a thievery. It's like going to a night club paying for an admission as you proceed into the club, someone tells you you don't dress right and ask that you leave the premises or comeback with a new suite. lol

    Crazy.

It´s pretty obvious he doesn´t want to take chances with some of the new directories.

They only have this policy because people keep submitting; if they had near to 0 submissions they would change it.

Review fee is fair, 100% review fee I don’t think so.

I agree with this one. Whose 10-15 mins of checking simple guidelines is worth $70?

%10 of that should be more than okay to avoid junk submissions.

%100 could be for sites that are obviously irreleveant to guidelines, as pornography or illegal. This one is not anything like that, not approving the quality is acceptable but refusing to refund an amount like $70 is not. You don't have to have an alternative website to submit, or they might disapprove it too for similar reasons(lack of content)

I like the idea of ¨getting paid to review¨ and not being paid to get listed. Maybe I should do that and advertise my directory as a directory where the listings are free. ;)

The fact that BOTW are so selective in accepting sites is exactly what makes a link from them so valuable.

If BOTW's experience was similar to mine I understand why your site was rejected.

I went to take a look at your directory as a potential user, which is what I assume BOTW does.

First I scanned the major topics to see if one caught my attention. The misspelled main category Soceity sure did. It told me that you hadn't taken enough time reviewing even the front page of your site. If I was an actual user I would have moved on right then, there are lots of directories.

I decided to then randomly drill down into a couple subdirectories to see what kind of listings you have.

The first was Business/Financial Services/Credit Services. There is only one site listed. The description is mostly keyword phrases and then ends with an apparently cut off word - Bes. The keyword phrases are even redundant. This description was not written for a user; it was written for a SE.

Then I went into Business/Information Services. There are four sites listed:
    - one related to budget web hosting
    - a credit card comparison site
    - information about telecom industry in Pakistan
    - Free online Guide on Ethanol E85 fuel
    Maybe some are misclassified?

Now that is all I looked at. Three places and all had problems. It was enough to turn me off as a consumer and more than enough to reject you if I was BOTW. BOTW has been around for a long time and has a very good reputation because USERS trust that quality sites are listed. Yours needs some work.

I can agree with that statement 110% But keeping the money and telling you that you need to submit another website because they do not want to list the site they want to list is another thing that I do not agree with.

If BOTW does not want to list such's site, why keep the money.....Review fee my a_ _:rolleyes:

There are many alternative to get quality listing from quality directories and this one is to avoid at all cost. Not becuase it's over price, not because of being rejected, it's becuase of that policy they have. That Elitist minded, the No Refund policy is enough to stay away from.

Saks 5th Avenue has a Good Reputation but when people buy they get what they want because they BUY. They get a REFUND when they are NOT of QUALITY.

I went and check to see what this "Quality" web directory does list on it's website.

Two sites that I would reject are listed at botw.
    online-casino-poker-table.com
    yourluckystarcasino.com
Yould find this listing here Featured even:rolleyes:
