When you read an article, do you feel more trust if you read from a blog than a forum? For some reason, i always feel information on forum unreliable (anyone can register and post crap without any consequence. Article site is almost the same since the write is not the owner. However, a blog is more personal, so the writer have to add quality to his own site what do you think?
Have to agree, i would trust blogs more than forums, then comes the article sites. Never checked article sites for the intention of reading articles as i feel them a bit crappy. Blogs(not all), are mostly unique and personal views are shared by people, so i would like them and trust them more than others.
I actually feel the exact opposite because most forums offer a checks & balance system through the other posters and discussion that follows. If I am a lonely blogger I can post whatever mis-information I want to, and if I am in a blogging community, there are higher chances that the others in my community are all like minded. Forums tend to be more diverse. Just IMHO, Q
Imo forums are more trust worthy for information beucause as Qryztufre said you are able to see if that is good or bad information based on the responses.
We do check comments on blogs and then have a decision on that thoughts. Forums are also not bad at all, as many users have their views shared at a time... And actually not much difference can be seen in them.
actually, i don't think there is anything to compare since it varies from blog to blog and forum to forum. It is not appropriate to generalize all forums or all blogs. The quality of the content in each forum or blog depends on the same thing, the person writing it. However, there is an additional factor that forums have that blogs do not (i think). Forums have administrators that are generally recognized as respected and knowledgable ppl in the subject matter. So there is a more formal policing of forums than for blogs. my 2cents
I trust forums far more than blogs. I love the various voices that come from a forum. It is like getting ten second opinions. You can also check post count to see if the poster has been around a while. When I see a post count of 2,000, I know the poster has most likely read up on the forum topic.
I think bit opposite. First, Forums..... because there are many people to correct the info. See this forums (DP) Hundreds of guys are writing crap but thousands are correcting it. And Unlike blogs... forums have many administrators and moderators to monitor the quality. Second, Blog .....for the reason the original poster said Third, articles.....because peoples are writing articles for marketing their own product. BTW, nice topic.
I trust blogs alot more, but I suppose you dont really know if it is true or not. If someone posts on a forum and it isnt true someone will most likely point it out.
however, with all that is being said, i find blogs more INTERESTING to read than forums generally. Involves slightly more prose and creative language generally.... at least that's my impression
I suppose that depends on your personality. I like forums better because they tend to be quick little bits of info, rather than lengthy monologs (sp?).
I actually trust articles from reputable sites first and then articles from good article directories. Why? Well, chances are if someone writes crap to promote a product, that site isn't going to be a reputable site. Second, people who promote crap are generally too lazy to write high quality articles and submit them to good article directories. Then, I'd trust good blogs. Way too many blogs are too opinionated so I look for good blogs from people who actually have some experience and know what they're talking about.. Then, I'd trust good forums. Sometimes forums can terribly mislead people so good forums with great moderation and lots of users who know their "stuff" is very helpful..
