I was one on one with a adsense advisor at the google plex yesterday. He looked at my site where I have images over ads and thought it was a nice touch. He also sugested putting images on the sides of the rectangle ads i have.

Maybe they didn't like that you also have Clicksor ads there?

@ e10- Yeah, well.... it just make me mad. I use adwords, and now I have to restrict my ads to show only on search engines because of all the crooks out there. That's why I feel great every time I find out some guy got banned, because it is one guy less cheating the system.

You are right, not everybody is going to agree. some people out there might think that there really are innocent people getting banned. I, on the other hand, think that if you get banned it is for a real reason and you deserved it.

Sadly, as Guyfromchicago pointed, I have yet seen a well-know webmaster getting banned.

How about Joeychgo? He got banned and he posts here, though he did get his account reinstated.

That's interesting Shoe. Maybe this guy did something unintentionally that got him banned. I really do see that it is important for the big G to burn the offenders and hard luck if you get crisped in the process. I do wonder though at the lack of feedback.

Don´t you think they might at least set up an email especially for those with cases to address and have it manned by a human? These bloodless, automated robot replies (or no reply at all) are a bit cold for a company that prefers to be seen on the side of good and glory.

So, tell me this: if I'm "so fraudulent," why is this guy's account still active?

    http://www.me-myself.cjb.net/

From my point of view, Google's policies are flawed for that very reason.

Yes, jjo, that is bad. Nonetheless, you have to fight your own corner here and not look at what that other joker is getting away with. If it is important to you to get back your AS account, then take the day off tomorrow. I am serious. Go and have fun with your girlfriend/boyfriend/dog/ somewhere cool and let off steam.

Then come in the next morning and write a polite and full explanation of your case. Good luck. I hope you get your account back and come back here to let us know about it.

I've emailed Google politely every day since my banning. I even cited that site as an example. I've not heard back, nor do I expect to.

Bottom line: I wasn't purposely abusing the system. Google has serious "power" issues.

I thank God I never got a Gmail account. (P.S., I love my Yahoo email).

e10, the main reason Google doesn't give much details when someone gets banned is to cause exactly what it is causing: a paranoia. Most people get so scared about banns that they would think twice before even thinking about cheating the system. Good way of controlling potential cheaters out there.

And for the ones that actually try to cheat, then they get what they deserve.

Okay... and for the few that get caught in the net? Don't know why I have turned into the Google Pariah Spokesperson all of a sudden. I think I´ll go and have another beer and lie down myself. Go for it, big guy.

This just amplifies my point. You have to really violate tos to get banned.

also dont EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER post links to YOUR OWN websites here. Especially ones with adsense or other generating accounts.

@ e10- If it talks like a duck and walks like a duck...

You are giving too much value to the banned people, you just believe that they got banned for no reason at all, but you don't know Google's version.

And considering the high technology google has, I'd stick with their version. Once again, I don't know ANY well-know webmaster that has been banned. Between the average Joe's version and Google's I'd pick Google.

Two things, I just want to add to FryMan's comment.

    1. 100% of Crooks are TOS violators, but not 100% of TOS are Crooks.
    2. G does not simply ban for TOS violations. I am proof of that. I had a site about lottery pools and in their opinion it was a gambling site. I complied with the email sent to me, and thanked them for helping me out, and even got followup emails to questions I had.

I found G very helpful and doesn't ban for TOS violations, even if you had a second TOS violation. Oh and a site baned, etc, etc.... Oops :D

So, if you violate the TOS so badly G bans you, like Fryman stated, G might just write you off.

    later,

    tom

I totally agree to both points, Tommy. I would just add for #1 that ignoring the law doesn't allow you to violate it.

And for #2 you are right, I had some "naughty" icons on one of my sites. Nothing porn, but Google considered them to be adult related and politely asked them to remove the code from those pages. Felt really nice to get such an email from GOogle, it shows you that if you play fair they will help you out.

also I have been warned probably (no joke) 15 times for adult content or other stuff that totally violates the tos.

I just have a hard time believing that your totally banned out of the blue for nothing
