Problems uploading a large sql database

I'm trying to upload a sql file around 1gig in size and it keeps stopping around 85meg, i using cuteftp to upload it and have tried uploading it compressed, around 400 meg and it still stop after uploading around 85meg.

1. any ideas how to upload such a large file?
2. if i upload it compressed how do i uncompress it once its on the server?

Can't you use 'resume' in CuteFTP to just resume uploading where it quit?
Does your host have a file upload limit?

 

Even FileZilla is good freeware FTP client to pause and resume transfers

 

It can be related to your webhosting server settings.
I managed to upload files over 1,5Gb in the past (SQL dumps also) without an issue.

 

I have used Big Dump in the past with no problems.

 

i have managed to upload the file and decompress it using cpanel filemanager, im just having problems configuring the bigdump.php file, i have used it before without any problems but it seems its having issues with the database settings.

 

Ok problems sorted i updated to the latest version of bigdump.php and problems solved. cheers wacman
