Doesnt matter if i get green or not.
BTW already getting a few coz of the service i give on DP ( direcotry submissions )

Anyways coming back : i wanted to know everyones thought and opinions about giving red reps n not mentioning ur name : how fair is that
n this question is for all senior member as sammie explained ur red reps kills me but u get only 1 negative. Why not mention ur names as well when u give me one or to anyone like Mary does.

Why are people hiding ? Is it that they feel guilty of wrong doing ??

Sorry your hands are typing but all I read is: BLAH BLAH BLAH.

Seriously why are people so hung up on rep? Who cares?

    Kids are starving in Africa,
There's wars going on in the world,
People can't afford to have a roof over their heads,
and you're complaining that people don't leave their name when they red rep you.

    Diddums.

Those that complain about red rep, generally get tons of red rep. It's not like it is a penalty. Suck it up. Relax.

Wow I'm gonna start watching my P's & Q's to be sure not to get reds from the senior members. I want all of mine to use for people who piss me off in threads that I participate in.

Sorry for the language but there's really no other way to convey that.

    See I've started already..lol

Thanks Sammie for all of your great advice on the reps. I think learning the ropes of the rep system is a must for anyone who wants to be a productive member of the DP forum "like me".

Take it easy. We should take comment/red rep positively. I would personally thank those who gave me red rep/give comment in my thread because they took the trouble to tell me what is wrong with my post/thread. If they choose the remain anonymous, I respect their decision.

This forum is Huge and I am not sure where you are from, BUT

In the USA, when I was a KID we had this game we used to play

Yes means no, and No means Yes, we played this when we were like 8,

    Mortal of the story:

Ask for Green, you get red.....Kinda how it works on forums, or at least this one..

Oh...Hint: DO NOT start a "I like red thread"

They will get you infracted ......just a heads up

I left you some Green , with my name

Good luck in the future :)

in my view, according to your signature "you are trying being over-smart.learn from the seniors, you don't have to write those silly words if we think your posts is worthful everyone will give you green you don't have to suggest us or reminder us in your signature.i guess this is all DP member think when they see your sig.

i'm not trying to be bad with you but this is just suggestion for you.sorry if i hurt you.

Why don't you change your signature to "I love Red Reps"? With this thread, that seems more appropriate. :D

    Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

My main intention to start this thread was not about my signature or some giving red rep because of the signature but i wanted DP to incorporate the feature of displaying name or the user id of the person by defualt whether that person likes it or not.I see that the thread has been moved to suggestions and feedback so i hope Shawn is definately giving it a thought :)

You're lucky you weren't here when users could give people red reps and not be penalized one rep for it. Back in the good old days, you could red rep someone all day long. Now, if you give someone a red rep, you get one rep TAKEN AWAY from you, so if someone is giving you red reps, you must REALLY be pissing them off. :D

I've had a look at the FAQ and searched the forum, but what is a grey rep? Is this neutral?

Reason I ask is that someone left me rep saying very funny post, thanks - but the rep colour was grey. Why would this be?

I think (and I'm not sure, I don't pay that much attention to this rep stuff), but "grey" I think means that the person giving you the (positive) rep is too new, and his green rep doesn't count very much as a result.

So this thread is back in general section again. :(

I hope that Admins/Mods do consider the suggestion i wanted to passon to them " Have the user id's displayed when some ones a Rep by default whether its green or red "

Why are you even obsessed with this? It's just reps on a board. It doesn't mean anything.
