    Hey

Dont know whether this has been discussed before

Some people unwantedly give green or red reps just to get one

    I know its difficult

But can there be moderation for reputation points too ??

That's great if mods have enough time.

Really, why? We're not in a contest. Green reps are nice, but they have nothing to do with why most of us are on this forum — that is, to give and receive info that will help us as webmasters.

I think the moderators have lot of things to moderate (for which there would not be sufficient time) for such a highly active community

So thats a good idea, but not possible though.

The vast majority of reps - somewhere between 80-100% - are awarded for bone fide reasons. You always get the odd person who maliciously red reps, but that's just to be expected in a large community like ours. What I would say is that green reps carry more weight than red, so you've got to be attracting a lot of red before you need to get worried! I guess I'm saying the system works most of the time, so no need to rock the apple cart.

There's no need to moderate threads. Reputation points are given for any reason.

btw what is the problem in giving greens and reds ?
Just because you get Reds from someone you are asking for moderation on reps?
Mods already have tons to moderate on this forum, why increase unwanted jobs on them

Approx. 10000000 times rep. is given on DP a DAY

So, I think we need at least 1000 more mods to do moderation...you see I only press the rep. button 10-20 times a day!

MODS have other things to monitor :p

But I'm sure if someone is constantly repping someone red for no apparent reason, that'll lead to some action...
