    I have been exchangeing links with other web site designers here www.barryswebdesign.co.uk

    In relation to my new site here

    www.creative-web-design.co.uk

    So when do you think i will see results for links

    i have exchanged a few links (oh and btw if any one wants to exchange links pm me)

    when will google tell me i have links to my site ?

    any ideas any one

    BTW im looking for a link exchange from this site to my new site realting to web design only ...

    thanks for advice in advance

    Google know about your backlinks very quickly, usually within a couple of days, but only update the 'link:' search term a few times a year. It's therefore possible your links won't be displayed on Google for several weeks until the 'link:' operator is updated - do not be too concerned about this because it's just a formality (like PR). Hop over to Yahoo and they show your links much quicker.

    Goole knows about your links, but you can check your backlins with msn or yahoo :), these search engine show you all the links

    Google is notorious for showing very few back links. I tend to do a Google search on my domain. That gives me a much better idea of what I should be seeing, minus any of my own, of course.

    First has your site been frequently cached by Google? then you can go for backlink check and google does not show all your backlinks, just the popular ones .you can all your backlinks in yahoo

    I think your late for the next update. Google started to update backlinks last week. You can see the results on the next update of google.

    depend on when will google send a spider bot to your site. normally, they send it quite often so just do your job do not worry much about pagerank update.

    I don't think it's 1-3 month, it shall be very fast if the pages you linked are indexed by google.

    My own experience is, when I submitted to those famous or popular directories, like abifind.com, hedir.com, etc, and website was accepted by these directories, the links will be showed in the google SERPs in less than one week if searching my domain in google (not link:www.mydomain.com, only search mydomain in google).

    frend have patience! it takes a long time to get backlinks and inbound/outbound links the more your site is old more your site will have good pr and backlinks, for google you must have patience

    This is a great question. I know I have lots of links out there, but G only shows 5. I almost had a heart attack yesterday. I had 600+ links showing on MSN a week ago. I checked 2 days ago using Marketleap's checker to see 0 links reported by MSN. Then, I went to MSN and their link: command returns a blank page... I guess they shut off that command for now...

    Why doesn't Google report my links? MSN was showing 600+, and G only 5?
