Is there another way of viewing the competitions adwords bids besides using Keyword Elite?

Very interesting... keycomplete.com looks expensive to join.

Spyfu.com is fantastic, but useless for me because I need to do a UK search. Anyone know of anything similar that covers the UK?

I joined spyfu and did some searches on 3(US) adwords accounts that I manage and the results were incorrect on all 3. Don't know what else to say other than if it won't read my accounts correctly I can't trust the results for the accounts I am spying on??

why you wanna know their bids?
you should see on what position you have maximum CTR..and then just try to keep that position
spyfu doesn't seem very accurate to me...

Both GoogSpy and SpyFU are powered by:
    http://www.velocityscape.com/WebScraperPlus.aspx

I am not sure if that tool is useful for keyword analysis or not, I think not. But, interesting anyway.

    A very good question...

If you want to know how much you'll have to bid to appear in different positions, you have to test. Your competitors have totally different quality scores to you, so their bids are irrelevant.

You should test different bids, and pick the position that makes you the most money.

Your bid determines your position, and your position determines your cpc - if bidding £1 gets you fourth, and bidding £0.50 also gets you fourth, either bid will cost you the same.

See my blogs on finding the sweet spot and how quality scores work if you want more details...

Another thing you might want to take into consideration is dayparting. Are your competitors dayparting and if so what times and what days are they upping and lowering their bids. This definitely will affect what placement your ad is.
