Powersubmit.com Directory - a Warning!

I have previously submitted sites to this directory, and everything went well.

However, 1 1/2 months ago I paid for 3 featured listings. After a while when the sites weren't listed, I contacted the owner through digitalpoint, then through email, and then through paypal. There was never any response.

Eventually, I disputed the charges. Even then, the seller never responded.

Today I was informed by paypal that my dispute was successful but there were no funds in the sellers account.

Just a heads up.

Hope you didn't loose too much. Doesn't paypal just take it out of your bank account? Or did this guy clean his account + bank account? Either way it's a shame.

I also submitted a regular listing in Powersubmit few weeks ago but my listing was not aproved infact i contacted via contact form too.
I was very busy so i forgot to file a dispute but the funny thing is that this directory is advertised heavily

Well, this Power Submit guy had a banner as an advertiser on www.phpld-templates.com. It was near the expiry date, i messages the owner, but he never replied. I checked out his DP profile and he hadn't logged back since ages. So i removed the banner on the said date and messaged as well as mailed the guy. Till date i haven't received any response.

Saad, directory is not heavily advertised. Rather it was/used to be heavily advertised

I just hope that the owner of powersubmit is alright

Same here hope the guy is ok, if is still alive probable he will come to this thread to explain what happened.

 

Well what do you know....The guy was here on March 7th 2007. (Last Activity) And if i remember correctly then i mailed this guy somewhere in jan'2007

So he is definitely okay

There is always an explainable circumstances or something had happen to him.

 

hmm wow ... this guy advertised heavily when i first got into the industry because he bought a banner on one of my directories which i sold ...

Actually I had submitted my link to similar directory.
My link never get approved or rejected. I had PMed to him( DP member) and never get any response.

Anyway, hope he is ok and come back soon

Interestingly this person also owns DirAve Web Directory and Find'em Directory

For both these directories, the hosting account has been disabled by Smallorange the hosting company. One reason of suspension could be non-payment of hosting dues??

Hope he is ok as well. PayPal didn't have a problem with billing us for our monthly subscription payment on March 16, 2007. Wonder how long DirAve.com has been suspended.

I'll have to check again when it gets closer to next months payment.
