Google earth??

    How often are the google earth images updated??I think the current image is too old.about 2 3 years old i think.Someone told me that they are updated once a year.Is this true?

    it depends on where and if the updated image is available, google does not pay to aquire new images but pays to use exisiting images, therefore do not expect them to be updated very often unless in areas of prime interest or urban centers.

    But in some regions I notice different seasons (and quality) side by side. That seems to be quite wide time range.

    Some are different quality side by side, where it can be perfectly clear at street level which just leads into a greeny blue blur. It is bound to get updated with high quality images in the end. It is just gonna take quite a while to keep photographing every street in the whole world.

    You can't complain for free though!

    with the money google has ya would think they would buy a few satalites to orbit the globe and take beautiful pictures for us but noooooooooo lol

    Google just recently updated parts of Sydney, they used an airplane at an altitude of 600 meters and not sattellite.

    The image of my house is around 2 years 4 months old, because one of the cars i owned is out the front and i only had it for about 6 weeks.

    Here's an example of the images, you can even make out a naked sunbather on the roof of a house.
