    Hi,
Is there a way I can send payment to Indonesia. I have a friend there and I want to send him some cash. Is there a way to send him some cash. I mean real cash. Cheque/paypal is not a way. Is there something like xoom. I need to give him cash quickly. Any help would be apreciated. :)

If you want to send cash real quick then Western Union is the best option. Though fees could be a bit high (not sure about your country to Indonesia transfers) but he can collect his money even within 2 minutes :)

    www.westerunion.com

    Hope this helps.

Well, you do not need to create an account with Western Union. You just fill in a form and submit it to the agent with your money and they will do the rest. Then your friend just need to bring along something to identify himself and your passphrase and if all checks out, he gets the money.

Of course, the other alternative can be through Wire Transfer.

It really depends you will have to ask agents in your country and they will provide you full information about Western Union. But I guess it will be less then 25$.

With Indonesia, I think best option is WU. Otherwise, you and your friend can buy a debit card such as VMI and fund money by card to card. Your friend can withdraw money at many ATM have Circus logo. ;) Hope useful with you.

Well, in the end, it all depends on the amount you want to send. I know that here in Singapore, the domestic helper from Indonesia got a way to remit funds back home, there seems to be an agent of sorts who do this. I heard once they get the money here, they will send a fax over to the other side and some dispatch riders will travel to the other party's home in Indonesia and hand over the money and take a photo snapshot to proof that payment is made. I guess that only works for people living in the remote villages.

In the end, it probably depend on the dollar amount. I guess the person you are dealing with is internet savvy.

Fast is the big issue here, otherwise I will say a bank draft drawn on an Indonesian bank or Ikobo will be more cost effective but it will take time getting the letter delivered to him.

Take a look at http://www.moneygram.com/Send/Send.htm?CC=ID&LC=EN , they seems to be cheaper than Western Union and does the same thing, it is just that I am not sure if there are agents where you live and where your friend stays :)

I forgot to mention that, if you are transfering trough ikobo one time only, then dont, use WU instead, but if you want to transfer regurarly with the same person then use ikobo. The first time transfer take time because ikobo have to send the debit card trough the recipient.

Next transfer, its real time. You can withdrawl the money in any atm in the word 2 second after the transfer.

Right, Ikobo is another good alternative if you want regular transfers. Fees are relatively low and this way you won't have to go anywhere and you can directly pay using your credit card. And a person can easily withdraw from ATMs around the world. Ikobo has been online for a while now and are providing good services so far.
