(If anyone feels this is of any use, feel free to edit this line out, and make it a sticky in the link exchange forum) People are more likely to look at your thread if the title stands out above the rest, and contains something they are looking for: (good title) Looking for HIGH traffic INVESTING related link exchange - Will give PR5 link Gives people a vast about of information at a glance, without having to look in the thread, the person wants high trafic sites, in investment, banking, money related sites, and is offering links on his investment PR5 related website. also shows the reader that this is not a cloud site, a scam, or a waste of time looking at the thread, as the information is in the title. What else does the title tell you? it tells you much more than you think, it tells you the person has thought out what they want, and what they are offering, they have taken the time to make it clear in the title, so as not to waste your time or their time, it tells you, you are dealing with someone thats professional, courteous, and thoughtful. (bad title) Link Exchange Well you know you are in the Link Exchange forum, and this is a common title used in that forum, so what does this title tell the reader that you are trying to attract? It tells them nothing of what is on offer, nothing about the related site or PR value. In fact this title is telling people that they should skip over it as the chances are it contains nothing of interest to them. What does this title tell you about the person? It tells me that they are thoughtless, unprofessional, and really don't care about wasting anyone's time for that matter. (the content) The content of your thread should make it clear what is on offer and what you'll accept in exchange. Example from the (good title) site: I am looking for just HIGH traffic investing/finance related link exchanges. I will give you a strong Pagerank 5 investing link in return! Here is my criteria: No directories No links pages, must be main page. Must have over 1000UV per day If you have something, let me know. I can link you to a PR5 investing site in return. Here is my info: link to site and anchor text was here:********** This is a clear and concise post that left very few questions open, it could have contained his sites stats i.e. UV per day. But it contains enough information to work with. Example from a bad content post: I can offer links on my pr3 blog I want you write the post with my keyword Please pm if interested Thanks All we have here is a PR3 blog, no clue as to the type of content it deals with, nor the sites stats, not even a link to view the site and see what it is about, the post looks like it is telling you to write a post with your link in it, but you have to use the Keywords they tell you to use, so how does that help you and your link? No supprise that the very next post 4 hours later was the OP saying "Nobody wants pr3 links?" you are more likely to get better results and exchange better value links if you are clear in the title and post you make, than if you just hash some words together and hope for the best. more times than not, the Best will pass your thread by, if it does not catch the eye of the people that are looking for quality, and a quality title stands out.
in effect, you are selling your website, you want it to look it's best to gain the best in return. and to do that, a good eye catching title will do far more than you think
