Okay I'm looking for a few logos for my blog/ personal site www.j8diamonds.com (it's not up yet, so don't bother clicking). 3+x $25 logos and 1x $50 character logo. Logo 1 - $25- Text with the name "J8Diamonds.com" in it. Doesn't necessarily have to have .com as it's only a personal website anyway, but try it with both. Logo 2 - $25 - Picture of a 'Jack' and an '8' of diamonds playing cards. Most likely with the Jack in the foreground and the 8 behind it, imagine it like you were looking down to find it at the poker table or as if they were standing up, one behind the other. Logo 3 - $25 - Picture of a poker chip with with 'J8' and either a 'D' or a 'diamond' (playing card type only). There may be more than one winner from this category but only for different styles. Like the front of the chip, or at an angle with a stack of chips. Logo 4 - $50 - The Jack and The Eight of Diamonds. Right this is a hard one. I want characters for the J and 8 of diamonds. Most likely be playing card characters, imagine the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland, but if you can think of something else please try it. I may NOT pick a winner from this category if I don't like any and since I'm not sure what I want I don't know what a winner will look like. Style wise don't imagine the Queen of Hearts imagine basketball logo characters like Hornets or something. It's quite difficult to explain, but I'll try and provide as much feedback as I can. The winner of this may get some extra commissions of the characters doing different things. Format - PSD and JPEG, need a web version and a printable 300dpi version for each. Closing date - April 5th 23:59 GMT, I May be on limited web access for the next week so quite a long date to allow me to provide feedback to entrants. Okay decided I'm not so keen on blue, but if you have an awesome blue design don't let it stop anyone though Not too keen on the colours in general there. Maybe keep in mind that it's poker/ gambling themed blog/ stuff for inspiration. Maybe try J8 in red and if 'diamonds' can sparkle or is that a bit camp? I dunno. Maybe a diamond (card style) as the dot from the 'i'.
[x[X]x] - That's almost apporaching the cartoony type look I'd quite like. Can you stick a 'D' or 'diamond' on the chip after the 8?
Yup, just like that. Good idea with the diamond in the middle, however it does look like a hole cut in the middle. Maybe make it like an indent and the same with the text so it looks etched rather than hollow? :?
The best way to make it appear etched rather than hollow would be to have the diamond in the same red colour but with the down bevel on it like you have now. Changing the colour should make it look etched.
