I work with PHP all days but in the last months I have seen less interest and content related to PHP... is people moving to different script languages like Ruby / Ruby on Rails / JSP?

Nope, not dying. You're just hearing less of a buzz about it because it has matured. People always want to talk about what's NEW because it's more newsworthy than talking about things that WORK.

not dying, I do however think after v6 it will come closer to the end of it's life as a web programming language and branch out into OS development integration for it's millions of developers worldwide, I cant wait, I got started already ......

For example, Borland is launching new Delphi for PHP IDE with Visual Component Library, like it Delphi has

    Ruby? This shit slow solution?
    JSP? Powerful, but time-cost

PHP is the best for medium sites!

I find php to be the best scripting language of all time. It is easy to use, easy to learn, stable, object oriented, and is pretty standard these days. I agree, the next step after v6.0 or maybe v7.0, is to become a programming language as to a scripting language.

    You're definitely reading wrong feeds.
PHP folks generating data access classes and webGUI's with Qcodo,
getting into Zend Framework, running Eclipse with PHP IDE...

    Having lot of fun, indeed.

PHP is great for minor applications where java and asp.net are overkill.

If I had a huge enterprise wide application to build, of course PHP would work, but for something that large it's much easier to manage with JSP or ASP.net.

For the smaller projects PHP is awesome, beacuse it's so simple and easy to use.

It's not Borland who have released it, but CodeGear, they are the new owners for the Delphi family of products.

Delphi for PHP has just been released and it looks awesome! Being able to Visually create PHP web applications is great!

I've just started a new forum on Delphi for PHP here :)

    Cheers ....
    Gerald.

The program itself it's actually compiled with that compiler, thats how much you can do with php ...... I'd like to see ruby do that .....
