Dangerous 114.29% CTR???

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by itsall3, Mar 22, 2007.

    Hi guys,

One of my sites yesterday got a 114.29% CTR.

This is crazy, it dosnt usally get this high. (it was only 8 clicks)

This is for 1 site, all my sites together, my "AdSense for content top channels" comes to 2.88% CTR.

Is high click through rates ok in indevidual sites, as long as the overall CTR of your account is lower then say, 10%???

Do you think i need to install adlogger or anything.

    Any advice would be great.

    Cheers.

I've emailed them to ask if i should install software to stop repeated clicks.

I dont want to lose my adsense account! -- it's looks so easy to lose, you read all the horror stories on here.

There is nothing i can do about the high clicks from yesterday, so i guess i'll just have to see what google says.

I might take the site in question down for a redesign.

    Thanks for your help.

Nothing beats google for adverts here in the UK though.

We cannot get yahoos ad thing yet.

And out of all the PPC programs i've tried, nothing pays as high as adsense.

I dont sell products, just links on my websites -- so apart from google, i cannot think of what else to do.

lol, i'm actually depending on google, but i have faith -- i stick by their rules, so hopefully they will leave me alone ;)

You will just get a robot response saying it's not recommended to install third party software. You have to keep the emails general, so they don't send a bot out to respond >.>

I wouldn't be too concerned about it if I were you since it was 8 clicks. That means that you had 6 or 7 pageviews for that site?

With low visitor rates like that it is not uncommon to see ultra high CTR's.

I have a site that runs into the same thing (low # of visitors and high CTR) and google has never slapped my hand for it.

I think mailing Google Adsense team will sort out the problems, if it is alarming, then they can easily track from where the click are coming, and after seeing the pattern they can easily fix those things.

It shouldn't really be a problem. But an email doesn't hurt.

I've checked my account and google has made the CTR lower! (thank google!)

They have taken it down to 10% -- which is still high, but much better then 114%.

I'm glad they did this -- they must have checked it and found out it was one person who clicked them all (not me!)

Cheers for the help guys. Still waiting from an email from google, but they might not bother now they have resolved the problem no?

    Cheers.

I don't think they did any changes in your account.
That just because the report was updated.

Yeah, the CTR has gone down because you've got more impressions.

imo you shouldn't worry about that since it's only on one channel that's having 8 clicks only. some of those visitors could have clicked 2 ads each. :)

You people seriously need to stop making threads everytime your ctr goes above 0.2%. There are arbitrage templates that will give you 70% or more constantly and I haven't seen anyone get banned from those yet.
If you're really worried just go to the page with high ctr and refresh a couple times. The impressions will go up and your ctr will go down.
