The problem with clickbank is that a large part of the items for sales are targeting internet marketers who in turn will bypass your CB id and buy for themselves or try to bypass you at every turn. Clickbank products worth selling are the one where you target the average consumer not other marketers.

I have had a sale but am only promoting specific niche products. I agree with isuccess, there seems to be a problem with by passing id's.

Clickbank is very good. Lots of eBooks and other good earners - they pay out on sales...

You can't mask the url (i don't think) you get your own subdomain style affiliate urls to track with - I do redirect with a php script on my end but I think you could still type in your affiliate id into the url if you really wanted to

(bad idea seliing webmaster tools unless you've got something really good... then you put it on clickbank - you'd still get the rest of the sale no matter who's changing the urls... hmmm ;))

Some people make thousands a month just from promoting products.

It certainly works. Not my main source, but occasionally I get checks.

As for the removing of your affiliate ID, I've heard the CB took care of that by cookieing the visitor the moment they arrive.

I know a place for clickbank RSS feeds that change periodically. You can configuire them for a particlar category of clickbank products. The url is as follows: http://www.ambatch.com/cbrss/

Clickbank has some spammy and scammy programs, but some are good. I used to be an affiliate for one of their hosting programs and it worked out fairly well for me :)

Yeah, there are thousands of dollars worth of their products right here in this forum. Maybe some software would be worth it, but I have not had such luck. I bought one ebook, and never have again. Just a big build up for nothing in my opinion.

I think they have gotten a really bad name over the years for being overly affiliated with mlm, get rich e-books and so on. cj is still the one I trust the most :) (after 5 years they are only getting better, like fine wine). linkshare is a very distant 3rd, Adsense of course is numero uno

I have recently given cj.com a run again after a long absense. I feel confident I could do ok with them full time if I canned adsense.

I just dont want to go through all the work of finding affiliates...

I have been disappointed with a few cj affiliates, but when you look at the numbers, you can easily find the ones that are creating revenue for other webmasters :)

    Shoe-
It's easy, just have a look at the 3 month EPC- is it over 10$? OK, that's pretty good. Now look at the green bars (network earnings). If they have 4 out of 5 or 5 of 5, that's also good. Now check the commission %-age. I like at least 10%, otherwise it seems like a rip-off. Now check the cookie length (except for lead programs)- at least 30 days is good. If you got all those ingredients, it's probably a winner.

There are also those who advocate the contrarian approach- the less webmasters making money with the merchant the better (no competition, more opportunity).

On the other hand, the heck with it- why not let Adsense do all the work.
