Weblog system that supports multiples blogs

Hi All,

I would like to host a network of blogs like the Weblogs Inc(http://www.weblogsinc.com/) in my country language, but I don´t know what blog engine use.

Anyone know/uses a blogging tool(paid or free) that suports multiples blogs?

I know that NucleusCMS supports multiples blogs within one installation, but it doesn´t support multiple categories for each post

Yea, WordPress is a good option, it enables you to have multiple users, which you can specify if they have posting rights or not. Good luck with your blog.

 

Wordpress MU is not Wordpress

 

The problem with wordpress MU is that it does not suport subdomains does anyone know one that does support sub-domains?

 

It does support sub-domains. Check the support forums.

A few workarounds have been thought up I think...

I went through the forums, and it al comes down to some ideas non that work and there are no scripts for downloading which support the subdomains, some sites like blogs.ie have tweaked the scripts but are not giving them out for public use.

 

Really?!?! Isn't that against the GPL terms?

 

I don't know, I have tried emailing them but their email : is non existent.

I just found out that webmaster [ @ ] blogs [.] ie does work, took just some trying.

 

Un-hyperlink the email (Or break it up) so they don't get spam

I thought that if you modified the original sourse that you had to allow it to be redistributed... Like motorolla had to do with linux.

Two things from "the horse's mouth" aka the head developer of Wordpress MU:

"1. GPL doesn't mean that code has to be distributed when the product isn't be distributed.
2. it does virtual hosts no problem "

If anybody finds out how to do the subdomain option can you please let help me or share the code.
