Should I C.C.CLICK Forum Signatures? -

In recent years signature advertising has grown. I couldn't but help notice myself several users on here whose signatures I have clicked. So the question is what draws me to click on forum signatures?

FIRSTLY - The CURIOSITY factor. Some forum signatures have interesting titles, and have really good signatures..therefore, I have to click on them to see what the guy is promoting. If it is something that interests me I will take action.

SECONDLY - The TITLE has to interest me. So many signature titles on DP are interesting whilist some are just 'boring'. The ones that interest me are the ones that are written in an interesting way.

For example, SHOCKING - "This METHOD Nearly Killed ME!

An interesting title always has an edge to it.

THIRD - Why Do I end up clicking? Curiosity....The attention seeking title....draws me even closer to forum signatures ;)

I love clicking in forum signatures :) But sometimes it can be a distraction. Like I don't even finish reading the whole thread.

Sig advertising is big business in DP. If you check the link sale section there is always someone selling their sig. and I am always buying sigs myself :). It works.

Wow. Selling sigs?! That's interesting. But I guess it works since DP is such a big forum.

By selling sigs...you mean, if I add your link to my sig you'll pay me?

I could see so many problems with that though...like how many posts would I have to make per day? I smell spamm?? =)

Spam, is not a problem. When I buy a sig, I look for three things. 1. post count and two the type of post that the person is posting. If they are posting 5 sentence post everywhere on the forum then I don't buy from them. 3. credibility. that little green box under the post counts says alot about a user and their posts.

I think it really depends on the quality of the posts being made. If you purchase sig space from someone who posts 1-2 sentences replies, it's not going to look very good. However, if someone frequently contributes thought-provoking, quality posts, then his/her sig is more likely to be checked out and clicked and therefore more worth your purchase.

sites that allow banners in the forum signature are more appealing to click and may the best design win. The banners that look professional and have nice colors draw me in and I click.

I click on signatures if I find them interesting, or pertaining to what I am interested in!
