I understand it, but technically the sentence is false. You should say either:
The cost of giving red reputation is 1.
    or:
Giving red reputation affects your reputation by -1 point.

i just gave you neg rep and it says this:
There is a "cost" of -1 reputation to you if you give negative rep.

thats what it says, there is nothing wrong in that, now shhhh:p

As u said that in usercp, i can see latest reputation.. but there is nothing in my usercp.
Is this because people didnot give me any reputation? or any other reason.
    Please let me know.

Correct, your usercp is empty because no one gave you rep.

This might be a dumb question, but I can't find the answer. Do you only get one point for each positive reputation?

Or 10? You start out with 10, it would be logical the increments would be 10 as well. But I have yet to see documentation...

It depends on the amount of rep points the giver has.

What's the formula? I assume the more points they have, the more you get upon good reputation?

Also, maybe you should include the cost factor involved when giving negative rep. I didn't see that in documentation either.

Well as far I know Rep power depends on Post counts and Rep points. Every fixed number of posts and Reps points gives 1 rep power.

I don't know exact numbers on DP.

Thanks for spelling that out. Guess an exact formula isn't necessary- just try and get rep from people who are much older on the forum, and more popular than you. got it :)

Is it one-for-one? For example, does green rep from someone with, say, 6 green blobs give exactly 6 rep points (or 3 rep points from a 3-blob rep-giver?), etc.?

Yes, it is generally one rep point for each blob so long as person giving rep had ten or fewer blobs and the forum is not general chat. The maximum rep a member can inflict is +/- ten. In general chat rep is devalued by 1/10th I believe.

Its not a fair system though, you can give out -ve rep and loose only -1 always, but other user looses maybe 1 to 10 depending on your rep power, so fair system should be that the person giving red rep loose half the amount alteast of what the other person gets. Making sure that new comers and red reppers think twice before they rep for the fun of it.

    Cheers

I think -1 is okay although some members red rep for no reason.Although i am giving too much red rep lately but to scammers and those who make stupid posts.

So I noticed that the max amount of reps is 6 light green and 5 dark green. So after that points just build up and blocks don't get added any further eh?
