Personally I think 2-character domains are a good investment for the future. Once they're all gone, they should be worth a lot more.

What is the country for .gs? Can anybody outside the country buy .gs names?

.gs is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands.

The .gs ccTLD was also used in the creation of a domain hack, for Yahoo!'s blo.gs, which it bought from someone in 2005. I'd be interested in knowing the price paid for it if anyone knows.

Anyone can reigster these names, no restrictions.

Just an update from yesterday's list, 5 names have already been bought. I have posted these available names on 3 different forums. Personally, I think the rest will go soon as 2-character domains are very limited.

What if you can't sell it in 5 years & someone wants it for just $100?

 

I personally believe that with a 2-character NN.ccTLD you will definately be able to make money off it in the future because there is such a limited supply of them, as well as Adamsnames reserving any that were available in the 4 extentions they act for, setting the price at $500 to get one.

I think the value of these country specific domains depends upon how big the country and how any potential residents.

 

I don't think so because .tv domains are from very small country. tv= television. vg = very good, video games.

I believe that .tv and .vg domains will do well in future as their abbreviations are meaningful.

 

And 3-character .tv I believe starts from $500/year upwards to register them. Yes, that's per year, not once off. Not sure how much for the 2-character, could be the same or even more. They've all been registered already anyway, only way to get it, is to buy it from someone else.

That is a decision that you will need to make. Personally, I bought four 2-character .gs names (2 NN.gs & 2 LL.gs ones). I like it becuase 2-character domains are very rare.

All the 2-character names of .gd/.vg/.ms have been apparently reserved, & to get one, it's apparently $500 to get one.
