[MUST SEE] Tech Blog - New but w/UNIQUE content CUSTOM design/Logo

    Reason for sale
Well I started out with REALLY big plans for this but another similar blog (in my sig) fell into my lap and I've decided I'd rather pursue that. Problem is I put a lot of money into this site so I need to recoup at least part of my investment. So no I'm not looking to flip a profit here. I am fully aware I will lose money on this deal. But I'm not going to be ripped off either so please no low ball offers...

The plan was to make the site big like www.thetechzone.com with paid staff bloggers. I still have that dream but I simply can't do it with 2 blogs.

By the way the blog in my sig si a completely different niche so no need to fear me competing with you. in fact I will leave up the PR5 link on my www.menstech.com site and even link to your gadget stories when you have a cool one.

    About the site:
Like I said it's fairly new (launched mid february) but already gets 100 uniques per day and has had up to 44 RSS subscribers. (at 17 right now). So the potential for this niche is there.

    Revenue
Again it's a fairly new site so not much revenue. On top of that I actually took on a partner for a while as compensations for his writing I changed all the ad codes to his. I just changed them back a week ago (last Monday) and have hardly made any money since the posting dropped off and we're down to 100 uniques per day. So consider it no revenue since I really haven't had the chance to properly track revenue with decent traffic to the site.

    SITE VALUE POINTS
Revenue potential: Simply signing up with sites like ReviewMe and PayPerPost it would be quite easy to not only keep fresh content on the blog but also get paid for it.

The formula for building a popular tech blog is really simple. Write good content. Update it at least 4 to 5 times a week. And post in the comments of other bloggers in your niche. When you write a good story send a mass email to all the editors of top blogs (we call them "tips") and they will write about the same thign you wrote about and give you a "VIA" link.

    Design:
I paid one of the top wordpress designers out there to design, code, and set up this blog. The same guy responsible for the new design on top blogs like SEOroundtable.com etc. I paid $750 for the unique design.

    Coding:
Then coded the design, integrated it into wordpress, and installed all the plugins and custom mods I wanted! (He stands by his work and his support comes with the site).

    Custom Logo:
Then I went and got a custom logo based on the design on SitePoint

    Unique Content:
I'm not just dumping a shell of a site off on you. Though a darn good looking one ;). But seriously this site comes with already established traffic, RSS subscribers and tons of custom written content by ME and a few paid bloggers.

    BIN is $1000 firm.

Please don't make me go sell this on SitePoint :(

I'm heading out for an hour but when I return Ill be on MSN, PM, Skype, Email, whatever you ned to answer questions.

    Thanks,

    - George

    Oops!!

I was so focused on all that I put into the blog/article system that I forgot about the forums!!

Forums run on vBulletin. The license is leased and attached to my account with multiple others so I cannot sell it to you.

However the site is running vBSEO and the VBSEO license is included ($149 value).

The forums as you can see have the homepage design header and footer integrated and it looks pretty nice.

Also the forums have ICO-Content licensed and installed ($75 value). The software automatically posts questions and answers them making your forums look busy and attract members. You've all seen fellow DPers spend up to $1,000 trying to get a forum launched. This one is already up and running with anti-spam hacks installed so spam bots can't register and post.

I haven't been focusing on the forums and simply installed ICO-content a few weeks ago (I set low daily post limits so it didn't go crazy) and let it go, so I have no idea how many members are real members.

Just wanted to let you know that this site does have a forum as well.

Thanks, that was my intention with what I siad above. To show the new owner this si a perfect opportunity to get into the tech blog niche. Even if you just automate it (which would be a waste!) you will still have a very attrative non-MFA looking automated blog.

As for offer, sorry I can't. I'm already taking a loss on the sale as it is. :)

    I understand you 100%.

I never thought about getting into the Tech Blog industry but I'm a eye-candy freak and this design has me thinking. ;)

I am so tempted here ...

This is a fabulous site and I couldn't pay someone to make it for less than $1000, but the constant updating requires dedication.

Good luck with the sale, I may be back!

Actually yes, as you can see on the site a lot of the blog posts were made by authors other than me :)

I paid them $10 per post because I wanted long super quality posts since I was just launching the site but I got a LOT of offers from DP users that would post for $5 or less per post.

What I did was just take revenue I earned from other sites and since it was already in my paypal I would use it to pay each poster for any articles I published by them once per week. In the end you just sit back and become the Editor-In-Chief and throw your 2 cents in when you feel like it.

Again I was really posting a lot to build up content for the launch but you really only have to update the site with quality posts about 4 or 5 times a week to build an active readership. Just like they do on most popular article sites like thetechspot.com technabob.com etc.

    Thanks tastysites :)

The thing about it though is that once you get a well established readership (which should be easy to do with this professional site) the revenue you can generate can easily make this your main site makign it pretty easy to focus on it.

The kind of well kept secret of gadget blog owners (large site ones) is that once you get a good readership, between the tips, pingbacks and paid writers you really do just become the Editor-In-Chief so the time invertment is not as much as you'd think ;)

Example? Look at John Chow. He's got so much free time on his hands he spends it running his own blog instead of working on TheTechSpot :D

It won't be much longer... I just got an email from someone offering to write for the site that will blow your socks off! This guy is the person I got most of my scoops from before others did and is the reason I got all those "VIA links" I mentioned above.

I have someone interested via PM right now and promised him 10 minutes. If I get no offer I will announce it here for everyone.

    Confirmed.

You guys REALLY missed out on this one :D

I literally had to stop and think for a while about selling the site. Just shows you the level of respect this site is getting already and it's still fairly new.
