Hello, I started using Digg and trying to figure out how this helps with overall SEO. Can someone help explain it to me? Thanks! Lisa
hi, Lisa, how are you? The biggest benefit (SEO-wise) is that a top dig story usually picks up a bunch of inbound links. A really big Digg story can get you thousands of backlinks. Here's a great breakdown of this phenomenon over at SEOMoz: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/anatomy-of-a-super-digg (unable to link it as I'm a new member!) Hope that helps, daniel
Daniel, Thank you for sending this along! This is great and I will read it over. I am trying to learn all about SEO and how things can help. My one site is around a PR4 and not fully sure how I got it there and working on my new site which is still PR0 (grrrr). So want to increase my first site while building up the new site and then begin working on my 2 other sites. Thank you again, Lisa
If others copy your article to their sites, also if it gets dug enough you could get so much traffic your server explodes. Be careful not to get banned from Digg, dont submit to often and only submit your good stuff!
Thats the only thing the digg is really good for. You get exposure (When dugg) and you would not believe the amounts of people who use/blog about stories they find on digg. You will get a whole bunch of backlinks!
I will def watch how much I post and will try and use this as exchange for back links. Thank you for all the great info! Lisa
WOW! I will def have to get more on it. I write a lot of real estate copy and for Realtors so I have been posting about the new communities around the neighborhoods opening. Maybe that will help a bit, who knows? It is def worth a try. Thanks!
Digg doesnot guraantee you a PR, but if you are an active member in Digg and have 100 or friends... chances of your stories getting to homepage increases. Digg crowd is really interested in tech stories (ubuntu, MAC, CSS, or talking about Digg itself). The real estate story neds to very interesting and funny to get some mileage out from Digg.
OK, so I will stick to the tech stuff over the real estate stuff. I guess I can put a tech angle on it about how the homes are offering certain wiring, networking, etc. Thanks for the heads up.
