    Hi All:
I was searching for a forum where I could learn and hopefully be helpful to others. This seems to be a nice place with reasonably sane people ;)

Will someone please advise how the signature line works?

    Cordially,

    Terri Arnold

Welcome aboard Terri. I'm one of the less sane people on this forum. But it is a nice place.

I believe the current rule is that you have to have 10 posts before your signature will show. This stops the people who just join to get a signature link and then leave. So stick around. Jump in to what ever thread grabs you, and after 10 posts your signature will appear.

Hi Teri, a warm welcome from sunny UK. It's a bit early for me (10:00 m), and the voice recognition on my PC is struggling with my hangover croaking......

enjoy, great tools and references and some very interesting discussions.
    Cheers

    Hi Terri - welcome.

Hey I asked a friend to get me a playing chip from the Flamingo after seeing that movie 'Bugsy' and she said it was probably the most shitty casino in the strip - but I have one now anyway (I collect odd stuff). Also have part of the Berlin Wall (slightly more worth having). Anyway - have you been to the Flamingno and or seen the movie?

Thanks for the welcome messages - much appreciated.

Dominic, we have lived here for two years and have not been to the Flamingo as yet. When we moved out here, we stayed at a hotel right off the Strip for three weeks and visited some of the big hotels. Now that we are "locals", we only go to the Strip for shows. Otherwise, we do our occasional gambling on the video poker slots at two of our favorite local hotel casinos.

One of the things we love about Vegas is the buffets which are not at all expensive. Also often the hotels advertise a "2 for 1" buffet special. If you cash a paycheck at any hotel cashier, you get a free chance at a big prize or something free like casino points, a free lunch, etc.

People here are very nice and polite. They hold doors open, say 'please' and 'thank you', no road rage. Not at all like Miami!

Hard to get jobs here though and the pay is low. There are a large number of hotel jobs available - IF you have prior hotel experience or IF you have no skills.

I gave you more information than you asked for but I do love it here :)

    Cordially,
    Terri Arnold

Aaahhhh... Las Vegas. Do I have some stories.

However, I don't think this would be the proper "forum" for them.

So, I'll just say welcome, Terri. :)

Hey Terri - I'm one of your "neighbors". I've been in Vegas for 5 years now.
I can't believe you moved here from south Fla. I'm from Ft. Laud just up the road from you down there also. Although I don't quite share your enthusiasm or your assesment of the people here, I do think that Vegas has two good things to offer: food and entertainment. I'm not much into the shows and I quit gambling altogether (oh the wasted money) but the food is great.

Just in case you haven't been yet - here are what I consider the top buffets:

    1) Rio

    2) Aladdin

    3) Wynn (my fiance works there so I am a little biased)

    4) Paris

On the lower end (price wise), but still good:

    1) Fiesta Rancho

    2) Not sure of the name but it is downtown right across from Four Queens (has a Hawaiian theme/atmosphere)

    3) Palace Station

Anyway, welcome aboard - I think this is probobly the best board around. Congratulations on finding it :)

    Bob
