Say sale fell through, still accepting offers or some such. Just use common sense in these things

If I have been scammed, and received rep points from people because they agree I have been scammed... It's an infraction to be upset about it, and calling the scammer out on it?

Why isn't there an infraction for scamming?

If you don't like the rules, leave!

And if you break the rules, you will receive an infraction.

What makes you think that? I asked a question, and a irrelevant answer was given.

I was given an infraction for "attacking" another member.

That was not the case. I was scammed on a link sale. I proved beyond a shadow of the doubt that it was fake PR. Many reputable members agreed with me.

Considering the scammer is still allowed to post and continue to sell these worthless links, do I not have the right to speak out against them? Especially considering the hostility began with them? How is that attacking? Anyone who understands the definition of the word knows that it isn't.

So your ass or not, TRY AGAIN!

If this has to do with the fake PR6 - DavidK1 is absolutely right in saying it is fake (and the OP has gone from posting a defence every 2nd or 3rd post, to not posting at all because then they would have to agree and actually give some refunds)

I would be giving the OP an infraction. I want to leave a negative iTrader, but I know they would be a bitch and give me one in return despite the fact I did nothing wrong (except caught onto their scam and demanded a refund)

The acceptable DP way of dealing with problematic member is to use i-trader and reputation.

I guess it has to do with that thread. I am still guessing but the problem could be that DavidK1 is calling other people in that thread names also, not only the person selling PR6 links.

If the link is fake or not should not be used as an excuse to call people names.

ive been getting infractions without even knowing. as I do bump my threads every 24 hours if I do not get a reply and it has been buried within that time.

it looks like I bumped a thread 23 hours and got a infraction.

I didnt even know that I had one till I clicked on my profile one day. you should make it send out a pm so you know you got a infraction

The system DOES send out a PM.

Maybe you need to check those a little more ferquently too, or set up your options so you get an email when one arrives.

    I don't get a PM, I get an email.

Maybe, I haven't spent a whole lot of time reading through it all. I think it's fair enough to call the OP a scammer (given the fact he denied it, then later when busted he said who cares you agreed to it... so he knows he was ripping people off - by the way I want my god damn refund). If the OP was clueless about the PR then ok fair enough, send refunds and we'll all forgive and forget. Not when they maliciously and knowingly sell fake links then rip into people who pull them up on their stuff. Really, they deserve a good beating, not an infraction!

I think he had a dig at you, I can't remember exactly

    your question was:

why did i get an infraction and why did the scammer go free?

CR's answer was "because DP does not settle disputes between members." looks like a relevant answer to me.

you attacked another member, and you got an infraction although you are in the right. just see it as a service to other DP members to avoid the scammer. infraction is the price you pay for it, but we are grateful that you called him out. it's just the way DP works.

The DP forum sends out email everytime you get an infraction. Better check your mailbox if you havent checked or check your spam folder.

I realize this reply post is a little untimely, but for some unknown reason the email sent me ended in my junck folder or I would have certainly replied sooner.

It would seen I've received an infraction for this post, will at least that's what it says in my UCP. However, when I read the editors note at the bottom of the post it refers to my using a "Fake Signature". Last edited by Smyrl : Mar 2nd 2007 at 7:41 am. Reason: Fake signature

Well Smyrl I see absolutely no valid reason for you to find this an Inappropriate Post. Although, I guess you can just arbitrarelly call any post you want inappropriate if it doesn't appear inline with your way of thinking. Furthermore, I suspect you'll also find this post reply inappropriate and act on it. To be guite honest with you, you can do whatever you like cause I don't give a fidler's flying flock of cushat.

Notwithstanding, you mention I have used a "Fack Signature" while taking into consideration Digital Point requires a user to have a minimum of 10 post before they can have an active signature, but then again you can do or say what you like even though I have only 8 post, well 9 now.

feedback, you seem angered by this and that's unfortunate. Most people can see the reasons why signatures are limited to users who have been members for a week and they appreciate that the mods keep the forum "clean". On the basis that this was an innocent mistake it will expire lonely and alone and therefore cause no problems. Infractions are hidden to other users so unless someone sees your post your friends and clients will be none the wiser.
