10000% correct, we can easily still get this done in a wrong way by creating new unverified accounts but finally its again paypal's loss only.

Is the name on the paypal account the same as the Bank account ?

I just used it about 8 days back and it worked just fine, got my money the next day infact.

I use these procedures

Paypal account:Father Name
Xoom account:My Name
Bank account:Father Name

Did you guys who have the limit dropped used a VCC to verify or a real international credit card from any international bank ?

If it is VCC then it might explain the situation.

 

The key here i believe, is the same name in paypal & bank a/c.

A few ppl had their funds refunded cause these two names didnt match.

account you should have the same name!

I just called paypal now. After some formalities like CC number, Phone number etc, she says. "Whats your issue". I said "Blah blah blah " the whole story. Then she said "I dont know, let me transfer you to a senior authority". Then kept on hold for half hour. Someone comes after that and i again explained the same story to her. She says "Okay thats a issue we will try to resolve within few days. Thanks for paitience" .

So all of you wait.

Hmm good for all of us. When i contacted them. The "Rep" mentioned that there was an " Ammendment that has come into place effective March 8. She said, she didnt have the entire information but took my email id and said she would email me. " I'm still waiting.

We should contact any unverified paypal user as we can know about what his limits are!

 

As Far as i know RBI hasn't declared such rules of withdrawl limit. I had a talk with my CA and he is not informed about this issue.
Now there can be just two possibilities:
1. Some error in paypal
2. Paypal has changed some rules for asian countries

I wish it's an error only or we all are screwed Badly.

 

My question is that did you guys with your withdrawal got limited, verified your account with a real bank-issued credit card or did you use a Virtual Credit Card (VCC) or Debit Card not issued by your bank or country ?

I was reading that an unverified account has a $500/mth withdrawal limit and $2500/mth withdrawal limit for a verified Indian account. So if it is because you were using a VCC or something then it might explain the current situation.

So far I asked and no one answered this yet. It be good to get to the root of the issue.

So far I am no issue with my Singapore Paypal account, still unlimited withdrawal.

 

Most of us are using credit cards and not Vcc. These are international credit cards issued by mega banks (citibank, icici, standard chartered, etc), so there shouldn't be such problems.

I just checked again, and when i click on withdraw -> request a check -> this is what is written in the note where we enter our names and amount -

So i believe the withdrawal limit for unverfiied a/cs has been changed (from the earlier - 150 / 2500) , and our accounts which are verified have been misunderstood as unverified.

(hope im not misunderstanding any of this)

 

Okay. Thanks. Before I was reading in other posts that some Indians were selling VCC and telling others to use them to verify their account so I assumed that those selling or recommending them are using them too. I guess I am wrong. Sorry about that.
