There is a bunch articles for the specific topic that do not exist. If I write the articles and add my external link, is this bad ?
You want to add content to Wikipedia. Fine! But I heard that Wikipedia started adding NOFOLLOW tag for all their external links. So if you are doing it for SEO, it might not help. But those links might bring traffic to your site.
I would go ahead and do it and link to your site, I've found out that wikipedia brings highly targeted traffic that converts well put a better article on your site that the one you have on wiki
Although it wont be very useful in terms of SEO, a link on Wikipedia can be a great source of targeted traffic. However if your articles become popular, your link may be edited (removed) by higher staff. Mihai
Well, your site must be a good one. You cannot just place your link there just because you contributed some articles.
If you do write an article at Wikipedia.org make sure it is unique from the information on your Web site. I have fallen in the trap of using the same content and this is not good for Search Engine rankings. Food for thought... -PRADCO
Yeah Wiki brings good traffic but dont put your link unless its truly relevent or it will get erased.
