The reason people do not like infractions is not because the system is bad, it is that we feel that we getting infractions for stupid reasons.

Here are a list of threads COMPLAINING about the system, yet you dont seem to do anything to improve the system.

If its done minimally, cursing someone is ok?? I may have a wrong personal opinion on this, but isn't it worse than posting a meaningless (but certainly not harmful to others) comment?

Again, I may be wrong and certainly respect the way things are handled in this forum, but this doesn't make sense to me. The whole point of these rules seems to imply creating a good environment for the users, so dealing with inappropriate (and insensitive) things to say to fellow members should be the most important rule.. or so I think.

that rule means it should be minimal and contextual cursing. if the post is just two words with the initials 'FU' than it's going to get deleted.

We arn't talking about "cursing someone" that would fall under "attacking or harrassing a member". We are talking about curse words. For example, this is acceptable: "That's fucking awesome!". This is not acceptable: "Fuck you, you shitty ass loser."

Hii. I recently got an infraction for "Inappropriate Post/Thread", but I really dont understand what inappropriate post I've made because instead of the thread/post URL, its written "private" in italics where I should normally see the thread where I got the infraction.

What does that mean? Why cant I see what inappropriate post I have done?

Private means that the post has been deleted...

I see. But then, how would I know which post of mine led to this infraction. If I don't know my mistake, how am I ever going to rectify it and not repeat it in future?

I agree with you, I have also received infractions on posts that have been deleted. Maybe you are supposed to remember all your posts :)

It's not something we can control. It would be nice if vB could let you have access to the deleted post - something we could suggest, perhaps?

Exactly. The point is, if you're not told what wrong you're being punished for, you'll surely repeat that again. So the whole system of infractions is rendered useless. Mods, what are your views on this?
