Having recently bought a domain from a registrar which turned out to be blacklisted by google. I am still trying to get it indexed. I have now found out a way to make sure that I don't buy one again. Do a search on Google and make sure the following comes up "If the URL is valid, try visiting that web page by clicking on the following link: www.abcdefg.com" for an example... Type this URL into Google: (remove the spaces..duh) http://www .automatedlinks. com/ Now type this one: http://www. sdfsdfjlskjfsdkfjlsdkfj. com/ The first is blacklisted, the second doesn't exist. See how Google displays their search results differently? I hope this stop someone else having the problems I am having
I have heard that there is now way for knowing that domain is blacklisted. The best way for buing domain is looking if that domain is known by google just typing in search box domain name.
The method I described above is supposed to be the best way of knowing try it with a blacklisted domain
Can you explain what actually happens since your initial example doesn't work? Maybe post a screenshot.
Yes that domain is blacklisted. A check at http://www.whois.sc/automatedlinks.com confirms this. Blaclisted for spam. You can use the whois.sc before buying a domain name to make sure it's not blacklisted. Registration is free
Look at the top line in both of the following GOOD SITE If the URL is valid, try visiting that web page by clicking on the following link: www.sdfsdfsdfsdfssdfsdfsdfdf.com Find web pages from the site www.sdfsdfsdfsdfssdfsdfsdfdf.com Find web pages that contain the term "www.sdfsdfsdfsdfssdfsdfsdfdf.com" BlACKLISTED SITE * Find web pages from the site www.automatedlinks.com * Find web pages that contain the term "www.automatedlinks.com"
Sorry iskander, I can´t see where it says it is blacklisted for spam. Obviously I need to take a break. Could you point it out to me?
(I immediately check all my domains to see if they were listed too.. thank god they are not) Very handy tool! (the rest of the whois.sc information is crap, but this is very useful)
Well, if you have ever tried to find one of your sites in DMOZ you would agree that the DMOZ info is useful as well
Hold on that one. The IP is reported as spammer, for the domain it's not sure. Look at: Reverse IP: Web server hosts 281 websites who are sharing one IP. It means that one or more of these 281 sites is a spammer - and it's email spamming. May be the domain is the one but it's not sure. Looking forward: http://www.senderbase.org/search?searchString=24.81.222.110 The IP is an open proxy... neat for spammer, they use it to send spam. There is no notion of the site your purchased. I did look a little more... your site was not the spammer. I found the spammer site using that IP.
I've purchased a blacklisted name before, simply emailed google after a month of "new" content to basically say "hey it's under new management", and within a few weeks it was back in Google. So asking does work sometimes
