if u aren't from the usa and are using adsense, did u need to get a us tax id and social security number? Or do u only needs these if u Live in the usa? What if u have an internet website hosting in the usa,but you live in another country other than the usa,do u still need to fill out those usa tax forms?

My sites are on Dreamhost, I'm in Aus, haven't done any tax stuff yet. I'm not really earning enough to be bothered to do it - I'll call it a hobby for now :)

No, you don't need any US tax id or whatever.
Your hosting location doesn't matter and if you don't live in the US, you don't have to fill US tax forms

Hosting in the US is fine. If I am remembering back correctly, I think I might have had to fill out the form that basically said I did not have to pay taxes in the US. AdSense does have a section on all of this in their help section, which includes answers to the hosting thing as well, because it caused a lot of confusion when they first required this from publishers.

I live is Asia and Adsense does not require a US tax id and social security number. All my sites are hosted in usa for past 2 years.

No problem with receiving payments, and they pay in local currency as well.

My server is in US and I am not from US. I don't have to pay tax and I don't have a social security number.

I live in the UK and I didn't need the tax ID or social security number. I have registered as self employed in the UK for tax purposes and I complete a tax return to declare the income.

Well I didnt had to use a US tax id and social security number. However if you get a lot of money from adsense you should include them in the tax according to law of your country.

cool thanks guys. i just found out adsense tax info here:

    https://www.google.com/adsense/taxinfo#nonus

    It says this:

    Non U.S. Business (No U.S. Activities )

United States (U.S.) Activities involve having employees or owning equipment in the U.S. that are involved in any way with revenue earned through the AdSense program. This includes, but is not limited to, owning a web server or owning a hosting service in the U.S., or having employees in the U.S. who are involved in either:

setting up a web server, hosting service, or website developing content for your website marketing to create a user base for your site
telephone support for your site buying products for your site
    maintaining your site

Generally, utilizing an unrelated third-party U.S. web hosting service to host your web pages, renting web servers that are located in the U.S. from an unrelated third party, or having your payment sent to a U.S. Post Office Box or mail forwarding address, do not of themselves constitute U.S. Activities.

    Now it says this also:

If you do not have U.S. Activities, you will be asked to agree to a statement to that effect. No tax forms are required in this instance.
So were u asked online if u you do not have any US activities? Did u just have to Click an online form?
