Question regarding hyphens in domain names

    Can someone explain to me why hyphenated domains are greatly undervalued when compared to premium domain names. I understand that they will be in less value than a premium due to the radio advertising aspect but this is the only critera I can see that is different. Surely this cannot have such a dramatic drop in valuation? When you perform a search on google for a premium domains keywords or keywords with a hyphen, they return the same results so they have the same attributes regarding SEO. Can someone explain this to me please?:p

    widget-store and widget-reviews? much more likely to be free.

    ... when you start moving into super-widget-store.info, things get much worse, obviously :)

    I think that putting hyphens in is just plain lazy.

    There is usually always a suitable domain available without using a hyphen. It just takes some creative thinking to come up with it. ;)
