26 Steps to 15,000 visitors a day

This is a bit of an old article (so if seen before I apologise but may still be worth a second or third read) but still pretty relevant IMO, nevetS reminded me of it in this thread, the article is 26 steps to 15K a day it certainly describes some good, ethical and long term traffic building ideas.

That's the first thing I ever read about SEO.

Great article, and much of it still runs true (It has been updated a few times since it was originally written.)

 

So in a nut shell content,content,content .........

 

Basically....

It's the first thing you should read if you have no idea about SEO, but for more advanced people it doesn't really tell you anything new.

It still contains good points - one of the main advantages of content focus is the ability to capture a lot of longtail search. Unfortunately, this tends to be a little less targeted than targeted keywords/keyphrases/.

Anyone knows a good article that describes the steps after the basics. Something like "The last steps to turn 15000 visitors into a 100000 visitors".

 

Getting 100,000 visitors is actually pretty easy. Getting 100,000 visitors that actually do anything other than eat up your bandwidth and processor resources - *that's* the really hard bit.

 

Lol and thats the kind of traffic im after. Targeted traffic.

 

Ive always thought it was a great article, it may be a bit dated in internet time, but it has its salient points that will remain true 5 years from today.

 

Writing 500 word articles every single day? What if your site focuses on a niche market and there just isn't that much to write about? Can someone point me to a "personal" site, ie - not big corporate, that has at least 100 pages of unique content? I am really interested to see how people pull this off.

 

You've never seen a site with 100 pages of unique content? Really?

 

A good refresher.

 

At present in our news section we add the following :

1. News from Google news
2. News from news wires ( related to subject )
3. 4 people who write "fresh" topics daily ( approx 150 per month )

We have only started doing this on this domain in the last 3 weeks but already it is having a positive effect. There are lots of writes on DP - we use a few. PM if you want to know who ......
