Not Printing Invoices

The laser printer I am using does not print invoices, it just prints out an empty page with the last part of the invoice at the bottom the barcode part. THat's all it prints.

It prints emails okay but it does not print reports either.

ANyone know what's wrong? Is there a setting I have to change?

What type of printer do you have? Do you have the latest print driver for it?

I have a Brother HL-1440 printer. It says I have the latest version of the driver but who knows. It's brand new, I just bought it.

Can you print "simple" things from it? (Like a customer letter)

How much memory does the printer have? Seems almost like the printer might be dropping things that are too complicated. Are you printing invoices with a logo on them? If so, try removing the logo and see if that is causing your printer to run out of memory.

I already tried that. As for memory im not sure what it has. What I am doing is since I have Microsoft Office installed it has a feature called Microsoft Image Document printing, so when it prints it exports to Microsoft Image Printer or whatever it's called and then I print it from there and it works fine. But that gets annoying sometimes.

Do you have a different printer you would be able to test it with?

It prints fine with my ink jet printer. And that's a small printer.

Do you have a different operating system you could test printing to the printer that isn't working? At least could narrow it down to the operating system or printer itself.

We have same proble with HL-1440. I just downloaded the generic PCL4 drivers from Brother and it fixed my problem. You might try that.

I'm having this same issue with my Brother HL-1440. I can print all documents to it except invoices. So far I have been able to print reports and letters. I can also use this for most generic printing from other software.

I had an issue with this printer from within some Intuit (QuickPayroll, QuickBooks) programs but Brother's tech support gave me a patch to fix it.

This printer is hooked up on a freshly loaded WinXPPro+SP2 machine which had the same issue with a previous load of WinXPPro+SP1. I have 2 other printers (Epson Photo Stylus R200 & Brother MFC-6800) which are all hooked up USB (just like the HL-1440) and work fine.

I'll try changing it to non-fancy invoices and see what happens, but for now I can't print any invoices to this printer.
