I don't think google is that dumb to forget the L, it's probably the green thing. :D

This has been discussed in another thread my friend :)

    Google is now Googe

On the other hand, yes it is a very creative design.

When I first glanced at it I read it as Gooey, and thought they'd gone soft for valantines day. It was only on a closer look I noticed the g and the L. Nice logo :)
Yahoo, has a fun gif, dogpiles is nice, what happened with MSN? have they no heart?

Well, as I originally said - we are giving google some free publicity (so it is a winning design).

It can be interpreted either as missing an L or the green bit (as I said it aka the stalk) would be the L. Either way, google brand gains a bit more free stuff from webmasters :p

“Googe is a sexual act originating in the Amazon rainforest. It is where the man wraps his legs around a womans face and googe’s like a bad badger. It is now used as an exclamation of hornyness or used as a term instead of ****, or also can be used as an expression deep hatred. Eg, I ****ing want to googe ya mam”

Subject: Google banner on Valentine's day

    Dear Laura,

Hello there. I understand you are the Corporate Communications Co-ordinator for Google. Well, I have a question and I was hoping you could answer it for me. I am a frequent Google user, and I just clicked on to the site and noticed that your banner today (Valentine's day) is an image of a chocolate-covered strawberry.

Well, to me, it looks like it says Googe, not Google. I was a bit confused, so I showed it to some of my friends and colleagues, and they agreed with me. So I was wondering, was the stalk on the strawberry meant to be an L, or did somebody just forget it altogether? It's not very clear. I would really appreciate your feedback.

    Best regards,

    S*****

    And the answer is...

You are right, the green stalk is indeed the 'L'.

This is a new and edgy design and i think it looks fab - i hope you agree
