I still want to use FTP to get some Wordpress plugins. I have BlueHost. I have tried to do the drag and drop thing, but I can't make it work. It may have a user restriction but I am logged into my control panel. I looked on their forums and other places, and didn't see what I needed.

It seems like it should be simple and I can find the Wordpress content part, but I can't do anything with it.

Pls attach some snapshot of what type of problem you are facing. I'm not clear what your problem was.

Well, if you don't have a FTP client to do this yet, I suggest SmartFTP(.com).

Now, to find all files viewable by the web, and if an Linux environment, they'll all be placed in /public_html/. In there you'll be able to find all the files and folders viewable via web addresses. Then, I believe, it would be a /content/ folder in /public_html/ that you upload the plugin files in.

As requested, screenshots and your actual methods would help us help you.

I see many on DP vote for SmartFTP.
I prefer CuteFTP. You can see their trial version first to decide if it's worth the money. I believe it is.

FileZilla is another option and freeware

    - I need to always be sure that my files are uploaded / downloaded in using the right format, no bugs tolerated
    - scheduled downloads come in handy often
    - password protected website profiles are an advantage
    - Friendly layout

This is what makes me stick to Cute.

    WS_FTP Professional 2007

No personal plug but I have used this ftp for years, once you get the hang of it it is very solid.

The world's most popular FTP client securely transfers files with lightning fast transfer speed, industry leading security and time saving automation features.
