[2007] Anyone has a list of FREE PRESS RELEASE sites ?

Discussion in 'Search Engine Optimization' started by seoocean, Feb 13, 2007.

    Hello Friends,

I am looking at a list of Press Release sites where i can make some press releases absolutely free.

I am aware that sites wont allow me to use html tags for a free submission but i am ok with that.

Thanks for your efforts in advance.

Make sure you use www.PR.com for free listing on Google News!

** www.PRWeb.com is the #1 best (paid) way to drive traffic to your site with a press release. It'll cost you about $200 to distribute it effectively through PRWeb, but it is well worth it if you know how to write and optimize a release.

I always assumed that there was some sort of mystique surrounding
press releases, as if you needed some sort of special permission to
    release them.

Incidentally, anyone know of some good resources on writing effective
press releases? Or is it equally effective to stick with general copy
    writing information.

No, press releases don't go by general copywriting rules. There are several articles and free templates at the second link in my sig. Press release generators are complete crap. Stick with a template instead and do it right.

And this one actually looks like an exact rip of the incredibly lousy PR-O-Matic software. Are you sure you're even allowed to have that posted?

A great list that I use is here. Since I am not able to use live links yet you will have to add and paste this one, but it is well worth it!

I am not sure if you need to write press releases or distribute, but I thought I would add that:

    www.prweb.com

is an AMAZING free service. I get a lot of clients through press releases I distributed with them.

PRweb hasn't offered free distribution since October, so you haven't used them in a while I guess. ;)

I get so tired of clients asking me for a list that I finally broke down and compiled one:

Big List of Free Press Release Distribution Sites

This list only consists of legitimate free press release distribution sites (not like those huge lists that also include things like article directories and paid sites even though they say they're free). I also make it very clear in that post that you shouldn't be submitting to the full list, but rather using lists like that as a guide to choose one to a few that will suit your needs. If you want to learn how to honestly distribute a press release more effectively for free, there's also a link there to a guide post I wrote on that subject as well.

Is it feasible to use press releases (paid or free) for network marketing companies like eniva?
