I have vista now and its a whole bunch of problems...My videos and DVD's don't always work....Sony Vegas and Mediastudio Pro crash all the time...I ended up partitioning the Drive and installing a bootleg version of XP to run alongside Vista

Planning to upgrade when i get a new computer. But if i got a new computer today i wouldn't upgrade to vista till some new other version hit retail and most major bugs were fixed. Windows XP is a pain enough sometimes i dont think i could handle all the new bugs in Vista...

    Still I'm working with XP.
Vista is new and I don't like experiments. Maybe I'll try Vista after 2-3 months. We'll see.

Actually I had 2000 running on the family PC and XP on mine, and XP always seemed to get the viruses etc.. while 2000 stays pretty much clean.

I had XP on my lappy for 2 years w/o anything until I installed some crap and messed it up. Then I decided to move on to vista. Have been an even bigger mess ever since.
    it's so unstable :p.

I'll save the money and use that money toward my next PC. I'm pretty happy with XP and don't know what Vista has that I need. Besides, having to work with XP, XP pro, Win2K, and <shudder> WinME on the PCs in my house is enough for now.

Honestly, I have dual boot notebook at home. One is opensuse 10, the other windows xp home. I use windows xp home only for playing Age of Empire II, and do the rest in opensuse. Even my children use gcompris and tuxpaint to play.

I have no reason whatsoever to purchase it. My desktop and XP work just fine and I love it. Unfortunatly my laptop I will get in a week will have Vista. if it was a choice from what I am hearing it would have been XP.

I agree with everyone that says to wait. XP Pro has been working very well for me for the past few years and I have never had a crash so I don't see the need to upgrade. If they can show me exactly how Vista will be better than something that already works perfectly for me, I may be interested. But not until several revisions have been done. As for right now, they will have to pry XP Pro from my cold dead hands!

I won't be buying it. I heard you can't listen to MP3s anymore, and it hiccups every time you want to install something or use this or that. Plus it doesn't support more than half the software I really need.

It merely sounds like a big hassle to me.

I may purchase it when i buy two new hard drives, but doubt i will. I will most probably wait, due to the fact that XP suits all my needs, Vista has quite a lot of restrictions regarding install etc and the only real reason to upgrade would be to the 64bit version, but that isn't fully supported yet.
