Personally I feel it should be a ban - that is called "misleading" and "scamming"

If it's not a ban for whatever reason, it should be a big infraction.

Usually though you don't get infractions unless you did something to deserve it

LOL Ouch I got an infraction for "Attacking/Harassing Other Members"
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=239170

I hope he got an infraction for his thread:
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=239179

Oh well, when this guy scams someone yet again, I'll kindly point them in the direction of the locked thread :)

Why is lowering the price of links you are selling considered bumping a Thread? Should we start a whole new thread over again just to decreae the price of something?

wildstuff, It was your thread that was referenced here. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=241963

Out of 12 replies 9 were yours. I just merged all the replies in a row together.

We have a saying here in the back wood, "That dawg don't hunt" meaning playing the innocent victim in regard to bumping a thread with price change is not valid argument. You had series of bumps all through thread.

Read the notes and don't continue to do what you were infracted for.

    Thanks for your reply...
I have read the rules, but cannot find the error....
I don't think posting 1 or 2 posts will get me $$$, this is not a pay per post forum....
I'll try to read the forum and not post anything else...

I didn't give you the infractions but posts like this "two sites added, thank you!" will get you infractions more often than not. Posting is fine, posting things that add zero value to the forum and it's member base are not.

FYI, that's a rep comment. Any member can leave you rep, only mods can leave infractions. (not sure if you knew the difference)

a lot of members are getting infractions for posts that are too short, why not set a 'minimum words count' for the posts.
too much moderation is only going to spoil the atmosphere.

Length of the post has nothing to do with it. Short posts can (and often are) valuable and helpful.

Good example being post 1 asking a question and reply 1 answering "Yes, it is." That's 11 useful characters. Now compare that to "PM sent", "Added mine" or "Cool!!!".

Quality, not quantity, is what matters here.

don't do that. surely you have some useful things to contribute. we just don't appreciate posts that are useless, like T0PS's and GuyFromChicago's examples.

Certainly doesn't look like bumping to me - it's not your thread and there were a few posts that day before yours. I think maybe they meant to give you the infraction for the post you wrote - a kind of "Message received" type post of limited value.
