What's the best way to market your website for FREE?

Can anyone tell me whats the best way to market your website to get high traffic for free? other than myspace and squidoo.. leave aside adsense and adwords..

if you've a good relationship with famous internet marketer, you can approach them to make joint venture with them. most of them have more than hundreds or even thousands or even more people in their list. Once they send an email to their list, you'll get traffic for free.

 

Do some directory submissions and perhaps a few related link exchanges. This should help to set things in motion.

 

one more things submit your site to social bookmarking sites..

 

stumbleupon - if you have good content. Getting links from sites in your niche is also important.

 

Submit a Sitemap to Google.

 

1) submit your site to directories as many as you can.
2) submit your site to social bookmarking sites.
3) put your signature in the forum ( you are doing that)
4) do link exchange with the related sites as yours
5) Submit your site to as many search engines as you can
6) Make sure you don't have broken links on your site! There is nothing more annoying when one clicks a link and it does not work. There are hundreds of places you can go on the internet that will check your link validity. Use them.
7) Make sure your META TAGS are done right.
8) submit sitemaps to google

 

First focus on the content,then submit to digg.com,delicious,reddit.com,stumbleupon,ect.

 

If you have a unique content, try to create a buzz (something for the others to talk about) in forums. I am trying this out myself soon

 

Better obtain money, if you do it right results will be better

 

Automated Link Exchanges are free, non-reciprocal, and effective.

 

Forum signatures work great. Also joining social networking communities (if you need some suggestions PM me). Another way is to post comments on blogs that relate to your website, just make sure you do not spam.

 

As far as the social bookmarking sites go, definitely dont forget Squidoo. Making a page, called a lens, there will raise your search rand and give you traffic independent of the search engines.

 

Article marketing is far and away my favourite form
of free advertising. And its especially useful if you
do some keyword research beforehand.

tell your friends. seems basic but it works. hopefully your friends know lots of people.

 

My personal favorites are forum posting with a link to your site in your sig and article marketing

 

Few free tips from my side -
1) Write something that your audience especially targeted might find useful.
2) Offer something for free!
3) Contact the webmasters of non-competing complimentary sites, and ask for reciprocal links. This way you get to share traffic.
4) Reply queries asked in Usenet newsgroups that relate to your product/service. And ask them to visit your site for more information, and include your web address in your e-mail signature'.

 

For me that would be "Article Submission" and "Press release", it generates traffic and gives your site a good publicity as well.

 

also squidoo. a good backlink source.
